I need an AR-15

Please, everyone, an AR-15 is not an Assault Rifle.

LOL ! I love it when I hear this .Mostly from Liberals ,and the liberal media. They have no idea what the're talking about Guess what. .
My fist , tire tool, slingshot, baseball bat ,etc, are assault weapons !
My Tractor could be used as an assault weapon too!!!

Many of the parts won't interchange. Bolt carriers, fire control group etc. But yes they are relatives. But without select fire, they are not assault rifles, but by definition they must have select fire to be an assault rifle. . The AR15 doesn't so it isn't. The AR15 is the same in function as all other commercial semi-auto rifles that have been made for well over 100 years.

Since I added the bump fire stock to mine,, I guess you could consider it rapid fire.. Assault rifle..LOL
Are all guns limited to 10 rounds ?? Man, that would suck

Nope, not here.

Is this the NRA orthodoxy now? Pretend the M16 and AR15 are as different as cars and tractors??? More like one is a Camaro and the other a Camaro SS if you ask me. One has full auto fire and the other is semi automatic. Don't the rest of the parts essentially interchange??

This is what I got off Field and Stream:

M16 is military version - semi-auto or full-auto when first introduced in mid 1960's. Later another selector position was included for the 3 shot burst.

AR15 is civilian version that is semi-auto only.

Sounds like they are a bit more closely related than a Kubota and a Chevy.

As I recollect we (USAF) got the originals and first one I was issued was still marked as an AR15. About a year later, I exchanged it for an M16 and don't remember much difference. Both had selectable semi-auto or full-auto.

No, you are just limited to 10 rounds when deer hunting in this state.

...and yours needs some toilet paper...... Interesting, you suppose I own a 50. I don't. In fact, I hunt with a 308. I've taken elk at 500 yards with a 168 Berger VLD hunter in a Lapua case but thats not here nor there, what is, is you need to wipe your butthole.....

I don't suppose anything.

YOU stated that YOU shoot a 338 Lapau, not I.

Please, everyone, an AR-15 is not an Assault Rifle. This is the biggest misnomer and only fuels the anti-gunners sickening arguments. It's especially disgusting to hear it from those anti-gunners who have body guards carrying AR-15's.

AR-15-platform rifles are among the most popular firearms being sold. They are today's modern sporting rifle. The AR in "AR-15" rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. "AR" does NOT stand for "assault rifle" or "automatic rifle."

The AR15 is a civilian, semi automatic version of the M-16. One reason why some guys get so stuck on "mil spec" per building their own AR rifles, thinking "mil spec" in some way means quality.

I never once thought "AR" stood for assault rifle.

Reason I went with mil spec is I know what's in the rifle..My brother carried /used a mil spec 3 tours in Iraq / Afghanistan ,and he said it never failed him....It worked for him ,and many others, so It should work for me..

I thought AR meant Assault Rifle...Since, I found out it doesn't... I'm taking mine back ..LOL

If you don't like AR-15s, Bro...why even bother posting on this thread?

We gun owners need to stick together...not bicker over what types of firearms you don't like.
Our enemy is the anti-rights people...not each other.
And, this is not only directed to you...it's also directed toward others (including me)

Thank you Roy.

Since the 70s, the AR15 lower receiver isn't milled out to accept a trigger disconnector for full-auto and the bolt carrier is milled so that it cannot hit the full auto trigger disconnector.
