I Sent the tractor to the dealer today for a faulty fuel relay and first service. While I was there I started looking at the tractors on the lot just for the new tractor smell as mine was starting to wear off. My dealer came out and we started talking and I told him my only regret was that I should have bought the 55 hp. So like a good salesman he said well trade yours in I have someone with less land looking for a NX4510. I started to ponder and so just wondering I asked what he could give me for my 2015 NX4510. He played with the calculator and said with my third function and rear remotes he could give me $23,500 (Paid $25,700). I started looking at financing and thinking about pulling the trigger (Dangerous). Tonight at dinner I have to pitch this to the CFO.
So a couple of questions:
1) I currently have the HST and I am thinking about the shuttle. I like the HST for the convenience but their are things I don't like, like the delay from FWD to REV and the power loss which is inherent with HST. I do about 70% field work 30% loader work. Has anyone used the shuttle for the NX my dealer said he thinks the NX shuttle doesn't require you to use the clutch which would be the big downfall. As opposed to the DX where you need to clutch from FWD to REV.
2) What is the difference between wet disc and dry disc as far as clutch is concerned. My neighbor asked me and I didn't know. Is there a disadvantage to one or the other.
3) I am contemplating R1's this time instead of the R4's, as stated above I do a lot of field work and we get this black mud that seems to stick in the R4's. I have never had R1's so I would like some input on the disadvantages.
This probably will be my last tractor for a while as the wife wont agree to a third I'm going to guess. This one is an easy sell because the payment is only $81 a month.
Oh and I'm sure someone will ask... the price for the NX5510 Shuttle with remotes and third function $29,350($1000-3rd Fun/$750-RR), with HST- $30,450
