I drilled the plastic just back of the handle and put a common tire valve stem in the hole, Sans core. Remove the threaded on cap when pouring. Valve stems don't last that long, but i grab a handful of take offs when I visit my local auto mechanic.

Next on the list is to re-profile the cam on the spout so it opens under pressure regardless of orientation.

I have 3 of the no spill cans, 1 diesel for the tractor and 2 gas for the zero turn. I bought them all last spring and quickly learned why people complain about the slow dump. Then one day I had to momentarily stop fueling but kept the can in position. That's when I figured out that these cans quickly air lock when starting out. But just release the button for a moment and push it down again. The fuel dumps much quicker then. Granted it's still not as fast as the old plain spouts but, in my case, I'm able to rest the can on the machine and not have to bear any of it's weight due to the 90 degree spout so if it takes a couple of minutes to dump 5 gallons it's not an issue for me.

Same thing here. The No-Spill brand are the only ones that work decently at all. They do tend to airlock at the start, but a shake or a couple pokes at the valve fix that as you note. The other thing I did was drill a 3/16" hole through the yellow plastic guard around the thumb button so that I can push the button in, slide a drill bit through, and it holds the valve open. Kills your thumb to hold that for a full 5 gal. Mind you, I only use that when i know it will take the full can as i set it on the hood and let it rip... I have 2 diesel cans and notice that one of them definitely empties faster than the other. Not sure what the difference is, but since I just let them run on their own it isn't a big headache. (Yes i stay nearby just in case...but I can do some other things while it is dumping diesel.)

What about someone old that can't lift it up that high. The hose on them is to short and if you read the fine print it says you can't extend the hose because the motor is not strong enough.

If you hold your cans "sideways" they pour much faster, same goes for windshield washer. No spout though, I use a large funnel.

I agree that the button kills your thumb. I made a cam lever for mine. (Sorry for the large pictures, I was new at posting pictures when I did this)

Good point on having to lift it up on the hood. If I'm lucky to live long enough, there may come a day that I can't do it.
