Nice looking grill guard for a total protection situation. Not much will get by that and the easy on-easy off feature very nice.

Thanks!

I made the grille guard myself: View attachment 469439 On/off with one long pin.

I'll second Pappy's comment! Nice looking grill guard. I have been inspired by a lot of your all's great grill protection setups and need to get to work fabricating something up for my machine too. A couple of close calls already using the grapple, so I better do it sooner than later!

I borrowed the 7.3 for a 800 mile trip towing a 6k trailer in one very long day.

Nothing bad to say about the truck... got on the Highway 5, set the cruise for 60... never missed a beat.

I was going to take my smaller 1/2 ton gas pickup and my neighbor came over and with his keys and said I should take his Diesel... said why go over the mountains maxed out with a 15 year old truck.

It was very nice of him and his wife as I never asked.

I help here and there when he has some tractor work... mostly leveling a pad for water tanks and such.

What goes round, comes around...... your neighbour obviously appreciated your help on his projects.

All is relative...... the 6.7 is very impressive to drive, as it's definitely up there in the Torque Wars. From a service standpoint though, I'll stick with my 7.3 - if you need to do much of anything on the 6.7, you are lifting the cab off.

Rgds, D.

I just got my 6.0L PSD back from the custom diesel shop... head stud job (full "BulletProof" now, all parts replaced and updated related to BulletProof'ing) plus new injectors all the way around. $6000 later, and I'm expecting another 100k miles with hopefully no additional major costly repairs.

Overall I really like this F450... And the 6.0L has pretty decent power, even with stock tuning. Now that I'm BulletProofed, I might finally throw that tow tune on and see if she does any better.

Better do the egr delete if you want a true bullet proof

Yup already done... like I said, full BulletProof (I am fully educated on the 6.0 and it's nuances)

TSO: now yer set for tunes... go for it! I run a 80hp economy tune daily on my 7.3, huge gains over stock. I've been told (no personal experience) that once the bullet proof mods are done, the 6.0's respond even better to tunes.

Do you have gauges (boost, egt, trans temp)? They go hand in hand with tunes, but you likely know that.

Yeah I've got an SCT Tuner already, used to use it for scanning, but now I use the Torque App on a spare phone, and that works awesome! I think the stock towing tune is around 40 HP. I'll probably have a custom tune written, just in case. I'm usually towing 10k and up daily, so I want the tune for power, but still "safe" ... Hoping to keep this truck for a long time.

I've run a DP Tuner F5 chip with 40hp tow, decel/downhill, 80hp economy, and 1200 rpm hi idle tunes for nearly 10 years. Instant Switch on the fly, from any tune to another. Old school now, but works for me. Custom tunes, not generic 'superchips' type tunes.

What needs or can be done for a bullet proof 2015/16 SuperDuty Diesel?

Anywhere that has emission inspections I wouldn't recommend it. I think it's a $50'000 fine if you get caught deleted and they can invalidate your registration until you get it put back to factory.

Well that would eliminate where I live... the State still does emission tested on gas powered vehicles 1976 and newer.

Any fatal flaws in the current production diesel?

Only ask because my brother picked one up earlier this year...

Sorry just checkin. Have heard of too many people thinking only studs are full bullet proofed

Not at all... i think this is right around the 20th vehicle I've owned, but it's definitely the one I've researched, engine-wise, more than any of the others.

They've had some issues I think water in fuel has been the biggest. Some say the fuel filter system isn't sufficient. I think overall the 6.7 PSD has been pretty good so far.

Good to hear... the climate is mild here with no snow or freeze conditions...

All I know is that Truck cost more than first, second and third home combined!

The 6.7 power stroke can be fully deleted; egr, SCR, and dpf. A tune is needed to turn off all the systems, but a mild tow tune is more than enough with the increased air in and out of the engine. Did all this on my dad's truck in a afternoon.

The 6.0 power stroke is my favorite diesel engine. Very stout once the updates are done. I guess you can say I bulletproof it, but he's my list.

Reseal the bed plate
ARP studs.
Decked heads
New stand pipes
New Dummy plugs
New STC fitting on the hpo pump
Reseal injectors
Bulletproof egr cooler
New oil cooler
Switched coolant to Cat elc (most Important step).

It doesn't miss a beat.

What does a "80hp economy tune" mean?

80 horse power increase over stock, trans shift points, injection timing, throttle modulation adjusted for maximum economy.

Same with tow tune, chip 'talks' to engine and trans, firms shifts, lowers/raises shift points, locks torque converter, for best towing performance.

One more thing about deleting a new truck. You can say goodbye to any warranty. A lot of dealers will overlook a programmer but not emission modifications and may even report them. Just want you to be informed.
I've tuned many diesels but draw the line at removing emissions. I like the cleaner running diesels. You can fire up any of the tier 3 and above in our machine sheds and can barely smell any exhaust. The older diesels will run you out of the building within minutes.
