Gotcha... I misread your post. PHILIP8N's application specifies SUDT-2 for the mower gear box, which surprised me. Can you use it? Probably. Should you? I would stick with what is specified in the manual.
From my manual. Philip.
Trying to be helpful here........my OE manual (2009) for the BX mowers RCK60B, 54 and 48 say to use "SAE 90 API GL5 Gear Oil". I'm sort of surprised that Phillip8N's manual says otherwise. The Kubota dealer said that their 80-90 gear oil was just as good. Go figure.
My thinking is that the mower gear box is turning a whole lot faster than the front axle gears that use UDT varieties....Thus, I'd use a 80-90 weight, if it were me.
I have a BX, I see in my manual for the BX I can use SUDT2 in transition (hydraulics) and front axel, but my mower manual does not, is it because Kubota was to lazy to change the manual or ??
Philip, I see you have a 2009? so have you been using it in your mower since then? When did you do your first change on it?
On a side note: not that I want to go off topic of this thread, is any of the engine oil Kubota supplies synthetic or semi ?
Thank You Philip.
I am going to use the Kubota SUDT-2 also as you do for the gearbox and transition (hydraulics) and front axel.
Just one more question please, do you use the Kubota oil for the engine or what brand and w?
Thank you
