Looks very nice. Thanks for posting. Reminds me of last fall when I was building.

You'll enjoy it for years to come.

Got in a day and a half on the barn. It was 90 degrees and humid so my uncle and I took it slow but put a descent dent in the siding.

Enjoy the pics......

Nicely done!

Can I ask, with all that pretty wood, what are planning to do to protect it from carpenter bees?

We ended up getting the eave and rake boards of our house clad with aluminum flashing [matching our new metal roof], so the buggers can longer get access to that wood.

Thanks for the interest.... As you did, I will also be covering the fascia and eave boards with metal that will match the roof's color. I will be doing it more for the appearance than keeping the bees away.

Thanks.... And might I say that your barn looks very nice....

Thanks Woody;
To all those thinking of building a barn; I say go for it. There is nothing like doing it yourself. Something you can always look back on and say "I built that".

I got another 2 days in on the barn. My brother and I were able to get a bunch of the siding done leaving just one side and the trim work left. I am getting ready to order the windows and man door. I will be using black windows and door along with vinyl coated black trim that I will bend on my brake. Also, I will be making the barn doors and using the hardware that allows you to slide the doors to the side of the opening. Does anyone have a quality supplier for the barn hardware? All I have been finding online is hardware for interior barn doors, no exterior stuff made for outside use. Any suggestions would be great. Enjoy the pics'!!!!!

Looks great!

National hardware (aka Stanley) makes all of that sliding barn door stuff. Tractor Supply carries some, as does Amazon, though you'll need to get the track from a bricks and mortar store for sure since it's long and heavy. They have square track and round track. I have used both and they both seem OK to me.

Here's National's web page for barn door hardware:

Track, Hanger and Sliding Barn Door Systems - Customize in 3 Steps | National Hardware

That's the real deal for exterior doors. Funny about what you wrote -- I remember years ago googling for barn door hardware and kept finding decorative stuff for interior use. Seems that has taken over google for those search terms. I guess all the hip people want barn doors in their homes....
