Soggy ground and fog after another rain - 2.31 inches last night. 66 going to 86 today.

May be able to get some things done today, like string trimming and pruning and cleaning trash along the road. When my wife gets up, think she wants to go on a Costco run...I may be tempted.

Ron, how's the operation healing up?

71 going to 90 today in clearer weather. Pretty damp out now from overnight showers of about half an inch. Heading out early to run some errands, and then I hope to work down in the barn organizing my workshop area. Hope my electric reel comes in today so I can install that. The air line reel gets used all the time and I decided to get a matching Zilla electric reel.

Am going to stop down at the tractor shop and find out how they are doing on my old CC. Last time I looked the steering wheel was still on...

Good morning all, 60 going to 82 with no chance of rain according to the NWS. I said yesterday morning that we don't have many people stop by here and the house was crazy with people all day. The friend we bought the house from stopped in to pack some things from the basement, neighbor stopped in to chat a little and stayed a while. Salesman from HD came by to sell us a whole house generator, got a 16 kw Generac for $1100, hope it was a good deal. We can't not have one with our family member's needs as they are. Then friends wife came and joined us for supper and the guy from the pharmacy stopped in to deliver drugs. Very busy day. Neighbor is going to start pool school today, hope I get a good grade. We are talking about swapping it over to salt instead of those chlorine tablets. Friend is coming back to get a few more things out of basement.

Kile I was helping kill hogs a number of years ago back on top of the mountain west of here. It was COLD but it was going well. We killed 13 hogs that day. As we were winding down out came a few beers and Old Pap came in He popped the top of his beer and set it down by the fire and got it good and hot, like most people drink coffee and drank it. He said when he started drinking beer they had no fridge and he got used to hot beer.

Have a great day all, Ed

lots of stuff gets posted here and we all have to sift through and decide what makes sense to us.
I read a ways back the allegation that Kev T left due to possible unhappiness. We shouldn't jump to conclusions.
Toppop left for awhile while he was submerged in work at a new job. Others travel, don't have time to chat online.
I really miss Kev T's pics of horse and wagons and all the things he's in to. Am hopeful he is doing wonderfully well.

Folks go through challenging times, get off their meds, all kinds of reasons for upset. Let's be supportive.
But yeah, if I want abusive language, I'll go to unfriendly politics. I participate there on issues of religion, violence and insurance; the general discussions
of politics is too much a mosh pit for me. But even there we aren't usually told to F off. You just can't write that stuff online and not expect the hook to come.
And I'm glad it got cleaned up. I sure have written things sometimes passionately that I read the next day and sort of groaned. One I read and thought to myself, you sound like a pompous idiot. Well perhaps sometimes I resemble that...;)

RNG and RS, keep it coming. I want to know every detail, every weld. I can skim over if I want to, we all do to some extent. And what is Whipper doing today?
Chasing snakes off Don's favorite rocker I hope.
And who would want to restrain Lord Salop? We can just feel the fog and dampness creep over the moors, the sheep hunkering down, waiting for their next meal or being entertained by the funny man in the bright blue tractor.
Or reflecting how it was our parents made it out alive of WWII, Korea or Vietnam. Some didn't for sure.

Now what do you want to talk about today. The cute waitress is bringing around another pot of coffee. Roy, one sugar or two?

61 this morning and headed to 83 today. Sunny and pleasant.

Getting ready to go to the hospital. Boy's having his tonsils and adenoids out. Doctor says it'll be an overnight stay because of boys age and he's still not talking. Although he's adding words. Already checked chickens. Employee is going to chicken sit today. Will be back this afternoon to care for the birds.

Good day all.

Good Morning! 73F @ 5:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 103F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

One of the things I love about the flag pole lot and driveway gate here, Ed, is that I very seldom get visitors. And those that do show up make arrangements in advance. Houston, this is Tranquility Base...

I don't envy the thunderstorms back east even though I do miss the temporary cooling effects and the light shows. It's nice not having to worry about a rain shower spoiling a picnic or a project left outside. But it's so dry here when we do get thunderstorms the chain of fires that result can be devastating. Just yesterday there were three outbreaks reported nearby, and thankfully all were quickly extinguished. And there's news this morning an arsonist has been arrested. What gets into people these days? Is all this another sign of the approaching apocalypse?

Drew, you make some good points. I very much value the civility and candor here; it's generally a happy place and I think a lot of us stay because of that. If it were to degrade to shouting matches and drama, I'd find better ways to use my time. I was going to ask about the CC steering wheel. It sounds like the dealer doesn't have the appropriate pixie dust, either.

Farmer, I went through that same procedure when I was about your boy's age. Very scary: Stinky, brightly lit room full of people wearing masks, and I'm being rolled around on a hard table. Then one of them puts a mask on my face and all of a sudden I start choking on this awful smelling air (it was ether). I started to squirm and thrash, and it took four of them to hold me down until I passed out. When I woke up my throat felt like I'd swallowed a rose bush and I couldn't talk. But I soon learned that ice cream helped a lot with the throat, and I worked that for all it was worth. Even better, the sinus headaches I'd been plagued with subsided, and a week later I was feeling better than ever.

Went to pull the tail lights on the van yesterday and what do you know, they hit the bumper and wouldn't come off. Had to scratch my head for a while to figure out how the bumpers came off (Haynes was no help at all) then a few bolts and they came free. The headlights were next: Four Philips heads and the passenger side was out, but what's this? A rusty sheet metal slot head screw only finger tight on the driver side? And three more just like it? Better order up some new nut plates. By then it was 95F and the dash was baking in the sun, so I came into the house for a water break and never made it back out. Put up two more gun ads, then noticed that similar offerings weren't getting bids at any price. Maybe it's because people wait to the very end of the auction to bid?

Happy Hump Day!

Anyone have big plans for 4th of July?

After the alligator trapper gets all the gators out of the pool, a cool water volleyball game with the family.

Good morning! 72 heading to the mid 90s. We had a welcomed 1/3 inch of rain yesterday to settle the dust.

Drew, someplace I do have a pic of a large snake on my rocker on the porch, but that was before Whipper adopted us.

Don, I remember that picture and even sent it to my sister.
A little too close for comfort.

wow, what a flashback. It's tonsil time all over. The above was the same for me. i think the ether took me down pretty quickly but I also remember it making me feel lousy later. Ice cream was the universal treatment. More please.

Farmer, hope your boy does fine.
