Trailer got stolen, so decided to build one

Ummm, it's used. Yeah people expect to pay less - a lot less. If you are asking close to new price, why would they bother? They can pick from stock on hand or get built to order for not much more...with a warranty... If they are looking at used items, it is to SAVE MONEY. Not sure where you are at on your price, but if you won't knock at least 20% off new, then you will not even get a response, other than a low-baller. I hear a lot of people say 50% for used stuff is a good target. IME, that is not far off.

So good luck, but reality does not care if you take a loss or not. Just what people are willing to pay.

I just now did a search on CL in my area. Lots of hits on a "For Sale" search for "my money back" from people who bought something, used it for a while and "just want to get my money back" on the price.

Try your area.

If you have the capability then it wil be better to make it yourself.

If it sells it sells if not no big deal!! I can extend it to 18' -that's enough to get the tractor and bucket on the trailer and move the axels.

Just a story about the trailer. Yesterday I got a call about it the guy wanted to know if I had the title to it.....why because a trailer that's looks like mine was stolen from his house not far from me I told him come over and check out the paperwork!.

It looks great, How much did you spend on materials, may I ask?

I'm all for diy projects, but not those built by others that could kill me. Trailers need to be built using engineered plans and welded by certified welders (or somebody that good). Winging something that can carry 6000 pounds at 60 mph is incredibly reckless.
Seeing comments about using 5" channel instead of 3" without any mention of the web thickness shows me how much is missing from this discussion.
Please keep this trailer on your property.

You don't need to be certified to weld a trailer together! That's just a piece of paper. As long as you have penertration on both pieces of metal to be welded.

I'm up to around $4100 for materials and consumables.

Life has gotten in the way of finishing. I was hoping to finish the trailer before we broke ground on a house we've been planning on building, but that didn't happened. I've been meeting with contractor and subs during my time off for the past month. My 6 y/o started kinder and my 5 y/o started pre-k this week. This is the first time both kids have attended school. I thought I had a lot of time between dropping off the kids and picking them up, but 3pm rolls around pretty quickly. I can only manage a couple of hours of trailer time a day if I have any time at all. All I have left is to prep for paint and prime and paint, then do the wiring for lights and brakes.
