So i guess the cheapest route would be to save up enough to just pay cash and buy the 2538.

This is a really hard thing to do in today's consumeristic environment that teaches us from birth to spend every penny we make every month...
If a guy can delay gratification for a few years out in the workforce, and only borrow money for perhaps a home or land, then they will find a debt free, cash only lifestyle to be the way to go for peace of mind and the best prices when it comes time to purchase cars, trucks and tractors. Sure we don't have the fanciest TVs, phones, or clothes, and my "new" Truck is six years old, but I sleep like a baby and enjoy stashing any "discretionary" dollars in the bank so I can buy another implement someday.
Dad grew up during WWII. I learned from him to "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without!" Once of the best lessons ever learned.
