Or not. I few years back a few trail systems we trying them with the idea "these are real work machines" and they failed at this work miserably. In a separate thread I mention these failures and was not treated warmly by the Kubo owners.......

Coming up at the end of work season here and I've written a "year 2" review of this machine. I'll post it if anyone is interested.

Hydrostatic transmission's rob to much HP and speed, so they don't work with pods that run at about 70% there of original speed. They also require much HP to push through snow and again, hydrostatic transmission's lose to much HP in there general operation.. Where as CVT transmissions have done well and only loose about 2% power. A few years ago we knew several area's running RTV's and they all gave them up, within 2 years. Nonetheless, Kudota's have not failed well in the snow or grooming business and I'll not mention the other failures operators seen with them. Our HD10 is now more than 1/2 way through its life expectancy with us, so we are pondering its replacement. What might that be??

I rarely see any Kubotas used at work sites, it's typically either a Gator or a Polaris on the work sites around here. The Kubotas are used on farms by some but even then I see more Gator/Polaris machines. The prices on Kubotas and finance options are appealing but they don't perform as well when it's true off road working.:2cents:

JD Gators do have a good reputation in our industry but all the ones I test drove, I thought were under-powered. (we receive more snow than most users) Since we do have a good JD dealer here, at this time, our the next machine will either be a Gator or another Defender.

Have you looked into the Polaris Brutus? It can be had with a diesel which I imagine being torquey would be prime for running with tracks pulling a load in the snow at slow speeds.

Blstr, We've had poor luck with Pol products so it will take some time before we get over that. Nonetheless, they've increased there engine size and if other snow grooming users have good luck with the latest versions, we'll then consider one.

We've broke to many parts on this machine, so its not likely we'll get another BPR (Can-am) for our next UTV. Oh well. No idea what we'll get at this time.

What about the JD 835R? 54hp and factory cab. Maybe the 865R diesel, or is the 23 hp diesel too whimpy for your purposes?
