When are 2017 GM and Rams coming out?

I wonder if they will ever fix problems like weak tyranny and the dead gas pedal and the #1 thing I don't like dodges is because the don't get good MPGS.
Is the slam on "dodge" a certain truck?

My BIL's diesel mid 2000's (2006? 20007?) diesel gets above 25 MPG unloaded. The new RAM Eco diesel claims up to 29 MPG. Note they are now called RAM trucks.

I don't know about the new Dodge Cummings, but my 2001.5 4X4 3/4ton H.O. six speed gets great mileage. If I just klutz around the country side empty about 60-65mph... I have to stop and drain some diesel out of the tank every once and awhile or she will overfill herself...... :)

Yeah, don't you hate when that happens. Park it higher than your tractor and just drain it in.

My Son has been working as a contractor for Chrysler for years. He says the higher ups hate it when someone calls them a Dodge truck, the marketing folks are adamant about the RAM branding. Every once and awhile I take a picture of the big DODGE lettering on the back of my truck and send it to him... I have had several Dodge trucks, never owned a Ram.... I can hit 21-22 pretty easy if I keep it below 70, but never have seen anything above that.... not too shabby for 7100 pounds of truck.

In my life so far I bought a used Dakota 1999 4th with the 3.9? That was under powerd. Then I bought a new 03 Dakota 4
7 engine 4x4. Junk! Then a 1500 1998 with the 5.9 gas OK but the tyranny gear lever used to slip gas pedal was not responsive when pressed to the floor mpg.was 12!!

The Ram trucks are infinitely better than the Dodges used to be. They are made to be trucks. They are not made for yuppies to look like they work or farm for a living when they drive to the golf course. Yes the drive by wire system takes some getting used to, no it does not have all the HP of the others (again it's made to tow not be a hot rod). It looks, sounds, and drive exactly like it's supposed to....like a truck. Want a car-like ride, buy a car.

The 68RFE is a good transmission, the Aisin is as robust as the 6R110 or the Allison. And based on discussions with local service people, the Ram has significantly less problems with their emissions system than Ford or GM. My 2015 Ram 2500 crew cab 4x4 is averaging 17.5 MPG. That is with a significant amount of idle time when I'm running calls for the fire department, as well as a good amount of towing and commuting with my very heavy right foot. My best tank was 19.3 on vacation and that was with only 2500 miles on it. I'm at 8000 now and haven't had an opportunity for another road trip to determine mileage.

I've got a 2012 3500 Ram dually diesel. My mileage has always been about the same since new. I never saw the claimed increase after break-in. I've got 120k miles on the odometer now. I average about 15.5 hwy at 75 mph empty. Towing a heavy trailer I seem to average about 11 mph. Here's my load from last weeks trip from Kansas City, MO to Grand Rapids Michigan and back. I scaled at 27,200 total truck and trailer and averaged 9 mpg on this trip. There is a huge amount of surface area for wind with this trailer so it always gets less than my others.

Transmissions were mentioned , as well as Tuners .

Having just rebuilt my son's 68rfe in his 2007 ram 2500 with the 6.7 cummins , something I learned from several local transmission shops was that None of the transmissions in any brand truck , can tolerate the added H.P. when using a tuner . Now with that said , I am Not saying that a tuner is Bad , just that per the shop guys I talked to , One has to use caution when using a tuner and added H.P. / turning it up . The 68rfe is basically a series of clutch plates of various sizes crammed into a case and really is quite simple to rebuild . Other than spending about and hour cutting out some metal and welding it together to make a sprag spring compressor , ( I was to cheap to spend $130 to buy 1 ) , I had it back together in 1 afternoon once I had ALL the correct parts .

In a regular rebuild , One does even need to mess with the sprag spring , But this was not a normal rebuild as My son had disassembled the transmission while I was working  So I ended up not only building a tool to reassemble , but spent not 1 , not 2 , But 3 times , sorting the various snap type rings by thickness , size that hold every thing together . Oh and not to mention that the Dodge dealer who the rebuild kit was ordered from , sent the wrong kit the first time  ( Found that out pretty quickly since the 68rfe has multiple single sided plates and there was none in first kit ) . My son kept moving every thing from 1 side of the shop to the other , so every time I came home and went to work on it , I had to sort through the crap again . Oh and did I mention that my son also bunged up a bearing / bushing in 1 of the components , that if purchased through Dodge , One has to buy the entire component , ( just the housing , not everything inside it ) , for $260 . So fingers did a internet search and found a place in West Sacramento that made the entire bearing / bushing kit for several transmissions including the 68rfe . Cost for the kit for a 68rfe = $104 which included shipping . So his transmission also has new bushings .

I am actually looking at a 2016 ram 3500 to trade in my 2006 ram 2500 with hemi for . The extra tow capacity and power to pull my big tex dump trailer will help a lot when I have to climb the hill from the valley to my house . The one I am looking at has the Aisin transmission , which seems to get good reviews ??
I have no plans to add a tuner or delete anything , simply stock , at least for the duration of warranty .

I can't understand why Ford would go to the great length to redesign the truck from the ground up and keep the stupid TTB front suspension on the 2wd.

I don't have any opinion on that. I have never bought a 2WD truck. It would be useless to me.
