Just bought first tractor and got ripped off

You probably did not see the conversation before it was deleted, but, the seller did NOT disclose that he knew about the repairs. In fact, he seemed just as surprised as the OP and claimed he had never personally looked, but that his mechanic had said that it was leaking, was probably a gasket, and would require splitting the tractor to get too.. This was something that WAS disclosed to the OP at the time of sale. Also, in the convo, the seller tried to make some amends to the OP for his troubles, but the OP wanted a $5-6000 implement instead of being reasonable.

Unless the OP has more to show, this will go nowhere as it is currently known.

Yea, I didn't see all the text messages. So the seller didn't know the casting was all welded up in a repair???

There is at least one other TC24D thread I remember where the poster installed a loader and immediately broke the case because of loose support bracket bolts. I wonder if that big loader on the front of the tractor has something to do with this. Are the brackets loose?

I'm learning that not keeping an eye on keeping the loader mount bolts tight is an expensive proposition. Same thing with greasing the pins.

Thats what he said.. Said he bought it used and used it for ~600-700 hrs in a commercial setting, and never had a problem and never looked underneath. He did remind the OP that he did mention it leaked (actually, OP noticed and asked about it, prior to sale) and that it started a few month prior and had his mechanic look at it and his mechanic never mentioned the welds. Seller then went on to try and locate the prior owner to get info, but couldnt, so he offered something to compensate the OP for his troubles and it went downhill from there...

In the end, the seller never admitted to anything (unlike we read here from OP), said the OP was informed of all he knew, and tried to work something out with the OP anyways.. but it got out of hand with the seller thinking in of hundred dollars, and the OP in thousands.

He said he known the case had been repaired because the owner he bought it from told him. But he never looked at the repair to see exactly what was done to it because he never had a problem with it.

Is fully functional. Not sure how long. It leaks about 1/4 of a quart of hydraulic oil a day.

FINALLY, AT POST 99 QUANTITY OVER TIME!

It seems the OP has a story of a different color.

At the rate of 2 gallons of Hydro per month, and the cost about $15/month I'd try to tell the truth on TBN and try to patch it until I could sell it.

And OP - remember, even if you deleted a post it probably exists on a server somewhere.

Put the leak tracer dye in it and see how bad the leak really is. It could be stupid simple to repair and you'd be out more money in Tums worrying about it. :)

Here is the crack on the inside of the case. As you can see its a long hair line crack. It has been welded on the outside should I have it welded on the inside to. image.jpg
