Yeah, one of his pics removed all doubt concerning transmission type.

the one with the cowl shifter was the smoking gun. the previous pic that showed the domed tranny top cover edge was good enough though.

New battery blew up. My best guess for cause is that the voltage regulator over charged it.

Thanks a bunch sound guy. I will get a better picture of the lever that disconnected the transmission

no need, You've already found it.

I just couldn't see the pic well enough to tell you if that was the lever or not. if you threw the lever and it rolled.. that's it.
