One of my friends just inherited an old tractor from her Dad who recently passed away and wants to know who made this tractor....way before my time.....someone said maybe a Simplicity??.....maybe it's missing a hood or other parts too??....
I'll confirm that it is NOT a Simplicity. The first front-engine four-wheel Simplicity tractor was a 1959 Model 700, and bears no resemblance to this. Here's a picture of one.
I disagree. It is a Briggs and Stratton. On the older cast iron block engines the letters B and S are stamped onto the blower housing above the recoil starter and can be seen in the pictures. Also the very rectangular gas tank with the stamped reinforcement in the ends, air filter, and other distinguishing features. Engine was possibly a 7hp.
