The 2650 is a little bigger than the Max 26. At close to 2300 lbs for the tractor only though, will it be too heavy to mow with? Again, the numbers for weight differ between the pamphlet (1786 lbs) vs the site (2293 lbs) so I’m not sure which is the correct figure.

The cab version is 2293, 1786# for the non cab.

I think you're right. Kubota needs to update their site:

B2650HSD
B2650HSDC

Tractordata.com has it right though:
Weight - 1786 to 2293 pounds

On the topic of weight. The leeching bed for the septic is under the lawn. How much weight do you folks figure is safe not just for the lawn, but for the leeching bed as well?
I think I read somewhere to keep it under 2000 lbs if being used as a mower. The previous/current owner's JD comes in at 1865 lbs. Based on that I'm guessing the 2650 will be fine in stock trim. Adding the loader pushes it up past 2000 lbs though and the PO's JD did not have a loader. Am I worrying about nothing?

Thanks,
Steve

No problems with my 3,500 lbs + implement L3200 over my or others leach field. I won't drive over the tank itself though.

No concerns over packing the soil on the leach field?

Don't tanks tend to have fairly sturdy concrete lids (some/most?)?

I broke down and purchased a riding lawn mower because I was worried about damaging my septic system with my B7800. Unfounded fears?

Where around Toronto? The climate varies greatly. I used to live in Rexdale and NewCastle and can assure you that they are tropical compared to Bruce County.

I think the leach system you are probably fine, the septic tank depth varies but they do tend to be pretty heavy built these days. I mowed 4 acres with a B7800 for over a year, over leach field around septic tank.. really couldn't drive on the tank.

When you properly backfill around buried pipe it becomes incredibly strong. Crushing forces get distributed to the side of the pipe, which can't squish out to the side because it's supported by dirt. I have no worries of driving my F250 or tractor over my leach field, or some flimsy black corrugated drain tile I buried 1' down.

As for compaction, it's been settling for a decade or 3, which will be more than what I can do. I wouldn't put a road over it, but I'm not worried about driving over it a good handful of times a year. If it was properly back filled with sand or gravel, that shouldn't compact, only the dirt on top.

The tank itself is probably pretty sturdy. But I'm not sure how reinforced it is or quite how thick. An unsupported 4-6' span could be relatively weak there in the middle. So I just don't know how much any tank ceiling, much less mine is rated for. I won't chance running my tractor over it as I don't want to deal with any potential repairs or falling into all that ****. I will back up to the edges & hang the mower over to mostly cut over mine as I know pretty well where it is. I won't on other people's. I wouldn't worry about taking a smaller riding mower over it though.

20K to mow your lawn and plow your drive isn't bad. I'm at 26K USD to do the same (separate tractor / mower / bunch of attachments), plus...

rip out trees
dig posts holes
dig out rocks
skid logs
dig out driveways and foundations
pull hay rides
Move around wood
pile debris for bon fire parties
transplant bushes
turn over the garden
re-contour the yard
clear out part of the woods
arrange the boulders to my liking
move the boat around easier
bend my fiend's car door back after an accident so that it opens and closes
pull stuck cars out of ditches in the snow
lift construction supplies to the roof
take heavy pallets off of delivery trucks

You can certainly clear your driveway and mow your lawn for a lot less money. But look at all the fun you'll be missing! :cool2:

I've used my B7800 (Kioti is too new yet to have been put to work in my shenanigans!) for these additional tasks/uses:

- As a telehandler: lift material to roof tops
- As a ladder stand: place my ladder in the bucket to do roofing work- really, I was safe!
- To drop light poles
- Lift equipment to work on: lawn tractor, bush hog
- Move portable coops
- Round up/herd critters

Still trying to figure out how to make toast with it:D
