I bought a brand new tractor with rust, fading and electrical issue. Paranoid?

As an old car dealer said when I pointed out some "flaws" on the vehicle I was contemplating purchasing, he said: "it is a long way from its heart". :) I have always remembered that. And a tractor is a lot rougher machine than an automobile. As many have found out, in no time you have a lot of scrapes and "bruises" put on a tractor. I keep a can of touch up paint handy and repair the larger ones from time to time where excessive rust would form. There is no point in fixing the bottom 1/3 of the bucket as you would scrape it off the first time you used it.

I think most of us want our tractors to look as nice as they can within reason that they are rough machines and are always subject to some minor damage.

Grease those loader pins and follow up regularly. They need grease or will grind up.

Exactly. That and keeping loader mounting bolts and wheel bolts tightened, and checked every 25 operational hours at least for the first 100 hours. These things are much much more important than a few paint flaws. If the loader mounting bolts and wheel bolts are not kept tight this can cause them to snap off and "egg out" the casting holes or wheel holes. So this type of initial maintenance if very important. And keeping up with greasing will save a lot of wear and headaches in the future.

k0ua--Very true. Over the years I have seen more loose wheel nuts than any other loose item. People just don't check and they wobble into egg shaped holes before you even know what's going on. Then guys find out the wheels are proprietary and cost $300...each. Check new tractor wheel and loader bolts and skip the hassle.

Got it!

Here's a action video from yesterday!

Well you are getting some good out of your purchase, but as you have already discovered, the bucket only is slow and a little tedious for snow removal, but it will work.. A blade is better..:)

OP, you will not regret a QA on your tractor. If you have use for forks, and really think before answering yourself, the QA is fantastic. However, I'm an advocate for Jery Dunn's QA and forks, not Kubota. I have the FEL mounted Kubota front blade. Nice for cleanup, but without power angle, it's a real PITA. I'm going to add power angle to it sometime by doing it myself. I just can't decide if I really have the use for two rear hydraulic ports to save a few hundred bucks, or just go with the front-mount third function valve. I'll never get a grapple, but on the flip side, I'll never use a hydraulic top link either. Adding hydraulic actuators to my rear snowblower is too expensive, do I'm going electric.

I will be in the marker for a loader/bucket mounted snow plow. I dont want the asphalt wearing through my bucket. So far I have narrowed it down to the BXpanded $1200 bucket mounted or the Kubota $1700 w/ QA, also have the option to add hyd angle for another $1100 later on if I want.
I'd suggest trying edge tamers first. We use them in NH on our gravel driveway and they work great. $104 for a pair, delivered.

I feel for the OP. If he paid top dollar for that tractor and the dealer didn't point out the flaws or give a discount, then he got taken. I kind of know how he feels. I bought a new 3-pt hitch snow blower that sat on the lot for a couple of years. The dealer told me that. It wasn't until I got it home that I noticed a dent on the top of it and the new blower came with a used pre-cut dry shaft. I would never do business with the guy again. I sent them a letter and they never responded. So I wrote a negative review on Yelp and Yelp took it down. Yelp said because it was the only negative review the guy got, they suspected that I was trolling. I say, shame on Yelp and Grunders in Torrington.

You guys dont have to call me OP my name is Ryan lol. I like the idea of the edge tamers but on my smooth asphalt driveway they would leave a 1/2 of snow. I found a wear blade from WR Long but its almost $300... I feel like I could get a new bucket for not too much more than that.
