We are 28 with some freezing drizzle, and reports of accidents all around the area.. I ain't going anywhere today..

Spend some good, quality time with the MIL... Maybe discuss all of your faults. They're really good at that... :D

I've held back for the last couple days in regards to shop projects. Havin our Christmas shop party Saturday night so kinda hate to trash the shop. Especially since I'm the one that's gotta clean it up.

Then next week we are supposed to get up around 32F degrees each day so I'll wanna get back outside.

I'm very Blessed to have a great shop to hang out in and an imagination for projects. By this time of year I'm worn out from outdoor activity over the past six months so am ready for some "shop" days. Bout March I'll start getting Cabin Fever......

It was down to 49* this morning!! I had to sleep in my sweat pants with my head under the covers!
My Geo-Thermal Heat/AC was burning a lot of water too. But I am sprinkling the garden with it so I am recycling.
It was 80's on Tuesday and I had AC on in my PU. Back to 80's this weekend too.
Just had a "T" Bone from the grill, it was 70* while I grilled it.
BUTTT,,,,, I have survived a Blizzard and worked outside all day at -30* when I lived in Ohio.
Moved to Florida 3 months later.

I'm getting the tractor prepared in the morning. School is already cancelled. Somewhere around 12" of snow and a good wind will equal 6-10 ft drifts in my driveway. Low around -20 Friday and Saturday night.

Around year 1960 was called out to repair a transmitter Radio East of Chadron Nebr. and just out of Scottsbluff picked up a very cold Indian standing in snow and wind whistling. he drank all of my coffee in about a mile. told him would give him ride to Chadron if he wanted to ride with me to Micro wave bldg. he agreed and at Squaw Mound snow was about 24 inches and drifting . fixed the problem and went to the 24 hour day restaurant for meal we were only 2 other than cook and waitress. Indian paid for meal .also.
On returning to Gary going with the wind didn't notice the drift until on top and jeep sank to above windows in the snow. took shovel and cleared out around wheels and put chains on front already on rear
restarted engine and broke something in transmission so nothing to do but wait for daylight. . found out that container of gas .with wiper cloth burning does not give enough heat to feel difference. took off coat to wrapped around feet and blanket sat in jeep until could see light. walked back about mile to ranch and told rancher my problem he called wrecker and so had a good breakfast and then got towed to the Ford garage at Chadron . took couple of hours to fix.
Nothing like old cold memories of earlier days.

Sang at a funeral this morning for a lady that was four days short of 100 years. Gassed up the truck...stocked up some 20 gallons for the generator. Picked up some medicine for a sick widow lady. Napped ......... warmed up a can of Chunky Chili.........watched some TV. Ready for bed as the drizzle comes down.

Gosh! What excitement maybe even Diesel Crawler can top that.:)

If there aren't any outdoor chores to do and you're tired of TBN browsing, what do y'all do?

Me, I'm going to finish polishing my many pairs of boots, so as to be ready for some really cold and snowy weather that's coming.

I replaced my last wax ring some 40 years ago. Next time it needed it I used a waxless toilet sealer. Glues to the bottom has a'rubber' neck that is rather flexible with a couple flexible collars. Makes a very good seal and is even reuseable.

minus 4 with high of 8 tomorrow - more in-house time.

Mike, Ive hit the Todays Posts button 23 times this morning, alass, the wife says I still have to go Christmas shopping with her.

Ironicly, looking forward to it. Not often we go 'kidless', kinda be like a date!

James, enjoy the times with your MIL, no matter how much they test your patience. We lost my MIL 3 years ago, I miss her every day, my wife more so, naturally. Huge hole in our lives, has dramatically changed the family dianamics not having her around. She would be watching our kids today if she was... RIP Dot.

Inside or out and about... Be safe and have a great day.

Hey Diesel, my MIL died about 10 years ago and I haven't had a good Thanksgiving Dinner since. Cheers, to you at this Christmas and to all good MILs.

Good "reasons" for going out to the shop:

Sharpen the kitchen knives.
Tighten the cookware handles.
Fix the broken laundry basket handles.

Any one of these can take all day.
