Total of about 9.65 cents per kwh.

And only a 31.7kwh per day usage, in december, in NY. Gas heat???

Your rates are less than mine, total I pay ~12-12.5 cents per kwh. And Spring/fall usage with no HVAC running is the only time of year I see ~30 kwh per day average. About 4 of the last 5 days we have saw single digits, and I'd ~70-80 kwh per day with the geothermal.

That's just electric. Most months I average 1000-1200 KWH's. That bill was for Oct24-Nov28th. seems to be the only month I dip below 1000 KWH. Nov-Dec bill isn't here yet. In July, Aug, and Sept it runs 1500-1800 KWH depending on A/C use. 9.65 per KWH? I come up with 10.98 cents per KWH incl the delivery cost.
I have fuel oil heat. I use about 500-550 gallons per season for the house and another 200 gallon per season when I'm using the garage. Plus propane tanks for cooking.

Temps have also been single digit and below 0 this past week so furnace is running more.

Our power company jacked up the delivery rate prices several years ago when the Gov't told them they could not have a monopoly on electric and must allow us to buy electric from other sources. They still have a monopoly on the delivery charge as its their lines and poles.

I'm on a plan with the electric company that they say is 8.8 cents per kwH, but that doesn't include taxes and other fees. So far this year, the grand total I've been paying has ranged from 8.64 to 11.86 cents per kwH. The rate decreases as usage increases.

Man oh man, I wish I could use the creek that runs in front of our cottage to generate power. In the spring it is a raging torrent, and would generate way more power than we need. However, over the summer it just goes down to a trickle, and is virtually useless.

Electricity prices in Ontario are so obscene, that I think there's a good chance that the government may fall as a result of it during the next election.

I must have fat-fingered my calculator. Still cheaper than me. And less usage to boot

Looking at the decimal points you listed Bird, I suspect that is the actual bottom line # on your bill that you were calculating with. From past trips I've taken, Texas is one part of the USA I can see myself living in..... you've just listed another good reason....

As I type (on battery), with TOU here, we are at 18.0 cents/kwh, BEFORE all the mythical Grimm Wynne fairy-tale fees and taxes are added..... part of the escalating cost structure here that means for many people, retirement is not an option - you either keep working, or depart for lower cost areas.

In terms of Christmas lights, many people put up little or nothing, compared to years ago. I like the look of holiday lights, contrasted against the snow, but are not affordable for many today.

The intellectual elites, feminists, government employees , students , imigrants , refugees and welfare recipients still guarentee the urban vote and at the very likely a minority liberal government .
The past two ontario PC candidates and last federal PC candidate may have been good business people . How ever they did not know how to give speeches that left a warm fuzzy feeling, smile, shake hands, kiss babies or appear likeable .they were cold charmless gorms. Rookie MPP Lisa Thompson would have won against Wynne in the last election if she had been leader.

My ontario power bill for November was $834.37 thanks to green power etc, cost was 21.4 cents per Kwhr . Over 80% of power used was at the lowest off peak rate.

LED to the rescue! We have 400 LED Christmas lights up, and it costs us a penny a day IF we run them 24/7 (which we don't).

Ouch! I don't think I could afford that at all.

That's right. I've kept a spread sheet going for a few years, and so far this year my TOTAL cost has been $0.1027254 per Kwh; about ten and a quarter cents per Kwh; a little less than half what buickanddeere is paying.
