I for one would be very interested in hearing your analysis of your chainsaw grooved tires..

I will be more than happy to report my findings. No change in conditions here for the last few days. My driveway is a skating rink. I'm currently bleeding from my other hand after falling on said rink. Just a little scrape. The next time we get snow I'll fire up the NH and report back.

There used to be a video floating around where someone did 1 rear tire and then tried to drive in some snow. The non-grooved tire just spun and spun. Once he hit the diff lock and forced the engagement to the grooved tire the tractor moved forward. Seemed about as "scientific" as it gets.

I'm not sure it really proves a lot other than two driven tires are better than one??

I still think the very first guy that did this had to be a full time skilled saw user and there had to be some sort of conversation that equated to "hold my beer and watch this". Maybe not those exact words and maybe there was no beer involved but this is how all great discoveries happen. :D

I think the point was that the non-grooved tire spun first. But then, depending on which side it was on that might be mechanically caused....... :)

More than the scientific crowd would want to admit for sure. :D
