I also help maintain my aunt and uncles place. He has a kubota rtv 900 diesel. Hydraulic dump bed and the works. It is one heck of a work horse. I have rounded the bed over with rocks out of the pasture and it doesn't even phase it. It will pull just about as much as our tractors will. However, top speed is 25 mph. That seems fast enough going through the woods or across bumpy pasture but it takes forever to get anywhere going down the dirt roads or highway.

The diesel rtvs are more than I'm willing to spend. This will be a motorized wheel barrow for my wife to do her yard work. She won't get out the tractor. I also want to haul to the farm for running around in.

Was at a different Polaris dealer today, they have gravely UTVs. Salesman said they are mostly Polaris built, but heavier suspension, larger metal bed, and can carry more weight.

Check out the new can-am defender if you get chance. I've had 2 rangers a 06 500 which I sold with around 1500 hs didn't have a speedo with odometer, and a 2011 xp le that has over 15,000 miles on it that I will replace in 2018. Both were good machines that I use for work all year except when there is to much snow. The can am has a lot of nice features and storage space . I have always thought bombardier products were a little nicer than polaris but we're always a little more pricey.

My wife and I purchased a ranger 570 midsize last year to use around our farm. It is a good little machine that does just about anything I ask of it.

My reasoning for going to the 570 midsize is how narrow tracked it is. We have about 50 acres of wooded land along with pasture land. I am 50 inches wide and fit in places a full size wouldn't go.

I have the same machine bought in 2015. It is great in the orchard, back bed has all kinds of tools, stakes, tape measures, pruners. I go off by myself or with my wife hand just gaze in wide wonder at the trees and land. Also take the grandkids out one by one, special time for them and me. I use it 12 months around here but I do stay away from deep snow out in the boonies lest I get stuck and have to walk back.

I use mine as a basic carry all for firewood in the winter, chain saws and such, and just about anything else I can come up with.

In my experience bigger isn't always better.[/
