Why SSQA?

This is the Bob-Tach style adapter that I DIYed onto the IH 584,,

The adapter is VERY heavy,, probably close to 300 pounds.
It probably came off a skid steer that was over 150 HP.

Then, I added close to 50 pounds of steel making an adapter so that it would pin to the loader arms.

The weight does not bother me,,
a neighbor drove his 1978 Ford F150 off the side of a small farm bridge.
My forks were able to pick up the front of the truck,, and put it back on top of the bridge.

Nothing I will ever want to lift will weigh that much,,, :D

On baling hay, we have a Kubota L3830 which has 32 PTO horsepower and it works well baling hay with an older New Holland hay baler I think it's a 269 but don't me.

Euro/Global is the farm tractor standard here now, even Deere finally went to it from their proprietary systems.

Skidsteer is still the norm on compacts and smaller utilities.

Proprietary I thought meant having the exclusive legal right, if that is the case why is it so easy to get Deere carriers from aftermarket sources. Deere (or any of the big oems) do not strike me as companies that would allow there to be so many copycats available on the market. Maybe it is more of an expired patent issue?.... not a legal scholar myself but the only carrier I have ever struggled to get via aftermarket channels is the old early 90's and before skid steer carrier that a few users adopted before joining to the now bobcat style ssqa but they where tough to get from the oems also. Proprietary more like they came up with and used, not so much that no one else could use it. Perhaps "from their own design couplers" would have better used. Although I can't readily recall many after market Deere coupler attachments around here, was mainly the 500 series "lynch pin" or 600/700 series "latches on each bucket" systems, most people buying those bought the attachments at the same time. Wasn't uncommon to see a tractor traded with the bucket, forks spears etc all with it for new ones. Now you see tractors traded just with a loader with euro coupler and no bucket!

Proprietary in this context means non-universal. You can find attachments out there from other makers but you won't find those coupling devices on anything but Deere loaders. Any way you slice it, the market and supply for these attachments is a fraction of those made and sold for SSQA or euro couplers.

^ yes, this is what I meant when I used the word Proprietary. I did not not explain it as well as you did.
