Mmmm, now I've used the 14 a bit since putting the ring sealer in it initially slowed the smoking but now it smokes even worse. If it continues to get worse I'll dump the oil and refill with untreated diesel oil and see what happens.

I was having a snoop around under the hood this morning after starting it and noticed it leaking coolant out the HG all the way down the LHS. Once it warmed up it stopped. I ripped the cover and valve train off it and retorqued the HG and reinstalled everything. I'll see next cold start if it's still doing it. And yes it is smoking more than ever now after changing oil and putting ring sealer in it, I came back up to the shed from the house and it was pluming blue smoke

Yep the HG still leaks  If I leave it too long like it eventually it will rot a valley in the head or block where the leak is. Did change the oil out and it now smokes way less thank god. that ring sealer didn't do a very good job.....

Sounds to me like at the very least you need to spring for a head gasket. Don't know what color your smoke is but it could be possible some is caused by coolant. That sure wouldn't be good for cylinder walls and rings.

if I had the head off and it was easy like on the larger tractors I think I would be pulling the pistons and at least re-ringing them.

That ring sealer is known as "snake oil" here in The States.

Howdy folks. Its been a long minute since I've been out here. (out of town with work). Anyway, I had limited success with "Restore" on a Camaro IROC-Z and other friends have too for smoking problems. Upon further research, It seems to me that "Restore" is great for leaky valve stem seals. Never much improvement for ring grooving etc.. So small block GM gas motors maybe. It won't go in my Yanmar. Not trying to hijack but anybody know where to find forks for a vtek loader? I have a ton of other questions probably leading to an upgrade from my 2000bd but I shall shut up for now.

Clamp on or quick attach? I have sent an email to a dealer in the Mesquite, Tx area asking if they are available. Awaiting his answer.

Winston, If this is quick attach, it ain't quick. Definitley not skid steer type quick attach. Not Really "clamp on either". Let me try a pic. Bear with me.
