Yeah between the injector and head. When I squirt some brakecleen down there it coughs and carries on so am guessing they were never replaced/installed.
There are 2 copper washers, 1 fiber washer, & 2 chambers (upper & lower). It's unlikely they're not unstalled, since the lower chamber gives the injected fuel its spray pattern.

Also, brake cleaner & starting fluid are not good for diesel engines.

sounds like he was just using the fluid to detect changes in the engine sound at the injector that was sucking air. I don't think anyone here actually uses the stuff on a regular basis for starting their engine.

Correct, just to locate the problem area. I did pull it out to find one cylinder had 1 copper washer and nothing else, the other gooed up with something?

The seat on the second pic appears to be fairly well damaged from possibly chipping the old one away.... don't know but it's pretty well scratched up. Just going to have to seal it up again with some goop and see how it goes.

Yeah I will, checked the valve clearances too and they were OK.

I used thick copper washers for injectors seals and refitted with some high temp heavy bodied anti seize. It still runs the same. No better or worse.

It appears you need an upper injector chamber. Hoye shows out of stock.

I have been using the PH auger to drill some post holes for some fencing I'm replacing but finding it very difficult to drill over the last 3 days. I had a good look at the auger to find it has considerable wear on the teeth and the auger itself on the outer edges. I ground up one blade and refitted it on the lower side of the auger to step the teeth and welded a wing on the outside with a taper to help it bite and sink the drill. Well what a difference that made, it sinks the bit so fast now it stalls the tractor if I'm not paying attention. Also have to up the revs a fair bit too. Overall very happy with it but need to replace the output shaft seal which is leaking badly. If I remember i'll take some pics tomorrow.

This summer I didn't the o rings on the top lift arms as they were leaking when it got really hot and dripped every so often. I also dI'd brake shaft seal, and cleaned up the drum and adjusted that side. While I had fluid drained I did that side axle shafts seal since it was weeping. I did the previous side like 3 years prior. I bought the other side to do for the brake shaft seal one day, maybe this winter?
