I hear Branson, MO is quite beautiful but my only association with Branson is because some Korean marketing wiz decided that it sounded better than Ozark or Osage or whatever other names they might have been considering.

I've been cutting trees and digging out some stumps with my 3520H & backhoe and think I may try out the heavy
duty stump bucket to speed things up a bit.

I just posted in the New Member Introduction forum and thought I'd repost here as I'll be spending 99% of my time in this forum.

I'm going by Branson Bob due to the April 2016 purchase of a Branson 3520H from Dave's Tractors in Red Bluff, CA. We bought the tractor with the FEL, backhoe, finish mower, pallet forks, Rim Guard ballast and Service Manual. It's a hydrostatic due to my desire to see Wifey get proficient on the machine... that's a work in progress.

As a lot of you know, Dave from Dave's Tractors is a regular poster here.

We bought the tractor after Wifey and I fulfilled our dream of owning land when we purchased 10 acres on a hillside in the Sierra foothills last July.

As the natives here (and in many other places) proclaim, "this land grows rocks." Besides needing to wage war on partially submerged boulders in our meadow, the land has many Blue Oaks, manzanita, and Bull Pine in the wooded area sloping down towards the creek. We collect rainwater (15,000 gallons last winter) and want to turn our land into a bit of a garden spot. So we've removed trees in anticipation of planting grape vines, fruit trees, garden plots, etc. Besides the boulders, there's lots of stumps to dig up and pull out (these drought-resistant trees have crazy-*** root systems!) In addition we'll be skidding logs, mowing grass, clearing trails, and building fencing.

This is our first tractor although I've operated a bucket truck and stump grinder in my former life as an arborist (10 years) and a Gradall in my current job as a construction electrician (15 years).

Anyways I'm looking forward to getting to know and swapping info with all the regulars here, particularly in the Branson/Century forums.

I am familiar with EA and love their Youtube videos. I wish their free shipping zone included our neck of the woods but I'll be buying from them regardless as their design, build quality and pricing seem excellent.

Happy tractoring right back at ya though with these rains I haven't been on mine in months.

Your post brings up an interesting (to me) question as to why Kukje (or whomever) decided on the name Branson when they decided to penetrate the US market with this series of tractors? Branson is a resort area isn't it? Resorts and working hard are at opposite ends of the string aren't they? Got me confused. Grin

Branson is a COUNTRY MUSIC themed resort. Most people (not all) that "buy compact tractors" either live in the country and/or like country music (I don't).

"Name association" can mean a lot in advertising and sales

I agree. Branson brings up the image of country living. Above all, it is an All-American. flag waving type name. I'll bet the hired a marketing firm to research names that would sublimely appeal to the potential American tractor buyer. I bought one despite all that

I remember when Branson and Montana both tractors came on the scene, about about the same time - -
and pondering the "name recognition" that inspires images of "Rugged" or "Freedom" or "Rural".

I was waiting for other manufacturers to start selling tractors named "Timber" or "Nashville" or something!

Ok guys, thanks. Sorta firmed up my assumed reasoning. While we're at it, I think the red-orange tinted paint is gorgeous. That's what caught my eye in the first place......driving down the interstate and pass this line of beautiful red tractors......whoa, gotta check this out. The rest is history.

I grew up ALL International Harvester (still have a bunch, check my sig!) and I needed something that would "blend in" LOL!!
