Traded up - BX2380

I have the BX2370. If I had it to do over again, I would go with a "B" instead of a BX.

IF they would put some of the BX80 features on a B, I bet you wouldn't be the only one not only trading in, but trading up!

That's EXACTLY what I'm thinking.
I have had three B's, and two BX's. Now that I'm sitting on a BX2670, I'm really liking the 80-Series improvements. My preference is a B for most of my applications, except the steering geometry that cuts the turf on turns. If Kubota would just make the front end steer "flat" like the BX, I'd be all in.
I'm sure three hours after I trade to a BX2680, the B2660 will come out with all the same features, and then some... including a backup camera, BLISS, lane assist, etc.

Typically I might look at trading up as I do with other 'stuff'. But I have added a lot of 'mods' to my BX25D and I am really happy with mine after about 350hrs. Just can't seeing going back to a bare bones machine. So many mods that I don't want to do it all over again. I don't mow with mine (have a Kubota Z turn), added Jery's QA which is great. And thanks to 4shorts, several other mods. And a few of my own. LED ROPS lighting, wheel spacers, under armor, Kubota tool box, a couple of ammo boxes converted to chain/tool boxes mounted to the FEL towers, side view mirrors, deluxe floor mat and skid tape, front hitch/winch, oh and Piranha Tooth Bar (maybe the best of...)... and I am sure a couple others.

I would give all that up or have to do all over if I upgraded. This tractor will be my last unless I make a drastic change in living conditions!

Funny and no kidding... my wife just asked today if I needed a bigger one! No jokes here either, please... I left myself wide open. :D

You could tell her you've wondered yourself but you trust her opinion more than your own being so close to the issue. I could go on but I won't. :D

I know I shouldn't even be asking this question at the risk of opening up the possibility of a trade... but is the B series have a much higher C of G than the BX? I'm operating on some serious slopes and irregularities like the little boulders that are growing out of the ground!

A BX with BH vs a B without might be similar. Not sure about the actual stability but the higher the butt from the ground the less stable it feels. I currently am using a L3901 from a B2650 and both seem about the same. I've done my hillside for many years as you have done yours so I'm avoiding some of the scarier situations or approaching my work differently than I did in the earlier years and being more careful with the higher machines. Also some of the scarier jobs are already done. Go sit on some of the Bs and if any slopes are available then test on the slopes and see how it feels to you. For years some people have said the heavier machines are more stable but when I'm scared most of the time it doesn't work for me to get that machine. Look at what you expect your future use to be with your land and do some testing and then decide. You've got the machine and land use experience now so go forth butterfly!:cool2:

Hello tractorshopper, I really liked the BX2380, and I think with the new 4-in-1 hydraulic disconnect on the FEL, it's probably better (quicker/easier) than the JD 1-series. In my neck of the woods, JD offered a bigger discount than the KB. I went in thinking the green tractors would be too expensive, but because of the bigger discount, the 1023E is on my short list....$1200 less than the 2380. If the price of all 3 tractors (1023E, 2380, MT125) were the same, I would go KB. My dilemma is, is it $1200 better than the JD, or $1600 better than the LS? I'm not so sure. I plan to see the LS on Wednesday, to try and make some final decision. The LS, btw, also has position control on the 3-pt. Again, on paper, the LS seriously kicks @ss. I'm really hoping I'm not disappointed with the actual product. If I'm not so pleased with the LS and/or dealer, I'm really thinking the 1023E is my next choice, again, just based on *value*. Odd that the tractor I liked the most so far, may end up my third choice. I just don't think I like it $1200 or $1600 more than the other two. We'll see.... Thanks for your input!

The 1023E should be less that the BX2380, this is not a fair comparison. The JD1023 is closer to the BX1880 (look at the engine and pto hp). Also, the 1023E is a standard machine (less features that the BX or the JD 1025) and all the BX are deluxe. JD does a good job of tricking people into "apple and oranges" comparisons. JD 1025 is closer in HP to the BX2380, but they never quote that way.

I should clarify before someone get bet out of shape. The JD 1023E is in between the BX1880 and the BX2380 in regards to pto hp. I say it should be compared to the BX1880 because the BX1880 is a slightly de-spec'ed model (no drive over deck and standard seat) like the JD 1023. I also stated that all the BX80 are deluxe and clearly the BX1880 is not truly a deluxe model.
