OP, you made your decision; notwithstanding a 'certified' expert's opinion on all things Kubota. Why worry or justify yourself to him, or anyone else for that matter.
I'm with you, do what works for YOU! Cheap isn't always best route, AND it's whose money?! Yours!

Thank you Coyote... your exactly right.
Sometimes i just get flustered with people when they wont listen to why your doing what your doing, and their way is the only way.
I`m not flustered with it anymore, i made my choice, and i`m VERY happy with what i did... even if some disagree with me, its all good.

You guys have sure made me glad I've never been concerned about getting involved in doing more fuel filtering for my 20 plus Kubotas over the past 14 years than the one original factory filter on my 160 hour F3080 a week or so ago. I do now think I will change the other one since I believe there are two on it. I know I got invloved reading about this issue a few years ago concerning water, algae, bad fuel, etc and each contributor for the solution came up with a better and better and better solution and the cost went up and up and up till I finally decided I had to have the best or just go with what 98% (you know, internet statistics which is whatever you want them to be at the time) of us do and that is nothing till it coughs or sputters. At the over $500 price for the one that was the only one to go with due to the micron filtering and nuclear clearing/zapping of debris and total auto reset with non CFL tightening of the roll and rope features set on mid level and the 4 knobs dialed to serial number and model year and day and week of production........well, I just gave up on it until being sucked in a gain with this thread which I couldn't resist following the discussion. Master mechanics, 50 years tractor owners with actual 100 years cumulative ownership and creative skills and knowing they can create a better project....well, I'm quitting and sticking with Kubotas years of manufacturing and their engineers (I've met with some of them from Japan at Barlows one time, great guys but we had to have an interpreter and she was cute) who are probably competent most of the time. Go forth and spend all you want with friends and strangers as you feel your heart and mind wants you to do for your personality and yes, it's mostly a personality thing. :cool2::cool2::drink:

I think it was Ben Franklin, or maybe it was Abe Lincoln, who said: 'you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of them all of the time'; or something similar to what I wrote.

Get used to the internets dude. Al Gore invented it so smart people could brow beat us idiots.

Internets? There's more than one?! I always suspected there was, and now I have proof! Al Gore, HA! He'd like to claim he invented it - but fact is he just took what the government had invented and changed the direction it was going; hence consumers and not just government types using it.
But smart people beating on idiots, now there's a concept....:confused3:

Here is a picture of my fuel filter installed. My next mod is to build a heavy duty protector shield for it.

Thanks dragon,
i really do pride myself with quality workmanship. I get that trait from my father... everything had to be quality. Not much of that today with others.
My dad always told me as a kid to do it right the first time, he always told me that i wouldnt have the time to go back to fix it right the second time.

How right he was... i see other people`s work, people just care less about quality anymore.
