New String Trimmer?

I have a DR push trimmer and like it, but it is not all that sturdy and I'm not sure how long it's going to last.

I have that same trimmer in Husqvarna orange. Mine's rated at 3 hp rather than x.xx ft/pd torque.

Runs perfect after 3 years. Very handy for curb trimming especially. On the negative side, the wheels have axle bushings rather than bearings. Bushings won't hold up as well.

I have one of those push type trimmers. Only used it a few times. I think it's a troy built brand.
Best I remember , the rear end swings side to side to get closer to a fence. I could be wrong about this feature, as It's been a while since I've used it

I see the module is under $20. so I'll give it a try.

An update. Rec'd the module today and the machine started right up. Still doesn't like high rpms but I now need to adjust the low idle screw to find the sweet spot.

Well the harness I ordered on June 8th finally arrived. I noticed it shipped in an individual plastic shipping bag direct. Direct from CHINA. I have never received a package from China before.

Mine order June 16th came in yesterday. The must've been on the same boat. Silly me - for some reason I had expected delivery in 2 or 3 days.

I had to work up my own strap clamp on the trimmer. Seems they should have come with that...

I tried mine out today. For sure, the harness takes the weight off of your arms. Not a mobile as using a trimmer without one. That may just take some getting used to. Hope so - I have a ton of trimming to do.

Regardless, one can't beat the price; $11.45 delivered. (Wow! I could have gotten the 3 year warranty for only $10.99 more.)

I have an Echo PAS-265 has been a great unit, I've had it a little over 9 years. I used it last Sunday, used it for about 4 hours or so. Ran great, no problems. Tuesday I go home and the wife said it is acting funny. I take a look, it starts right up, but won't rev up. I take a look and the air cleaner is dirty, even removed though, it still won't really rev. I get online and order new fuel lines, primer/purge bulb, and new air cleaner (after market for all). Change it all out (the grommet for won't fit, so have to reuse the original, so will purchase OEM from now on), I notice the fuel filter is gone. Looks like it broke off in the tank, but can't see it even after tipping and draining the tank. Put it all back together same issues. Take the carb off and clean it without disassembling it. Put it back together, same issue. At this point, I figure something got in the carb from the fuel filter breaking off. I start looking online, I found a Zama carb for it on eBay - which is the manufacturer that made the one that is on it for $17.99. Decide for $18 it isn't worth messing with trying to clean the old one. It is supposed to be here later this week. Hopefully that fixes it.

Maybe too late in replying (or maybe you posted your outcome later in this thread), but check the spark arrestor screen in the muffler. I've found when my 2-cycle engines don't make full power, it's most often a clogged spark arrestor. Most times, I just remove them to avoid future clogs. It's basically just a screen in the muffler port to prevent starting a forest fire. Not really an issue where I live.

And don't forget the coil module that scdeerslayer suggested. It's under $20. on Ebay from various sources and it remedied my symptoms & put my 125L Husky back it service.
