I did try 2, but different antenna didn't see any benefit.

Just had Mobley hooked up to 12V trailer breakaway battery that was at a charge of less than 11.9 volts. Left it hooked up and the Mobley stayed on and functional for 50 hours before it turned off. I checked the voltage of the battery, and it was exactly 8.00 V. Now charging breakaway battery and was wondering if a battery tender would run the Mobley on it's own.

I use a multi USB wall charger (mines 4, but a dual would work) a USB 5v to 12v converter with 2.1mm end, and a 2.1mm pigtail with small spade connectors on pins 4 and 16. Whole thing is taped to my window with 3m packing tape.

Same charger powers the GLi modem. If the Mobley needs to go with me, I unplug the pigtail and hook it up to the same type USB 5v to 12v cord in the car or RV. This way all the wear is on a cheap pigtail and not the Mobley or OBD2 pins..

I don't know for sure, but I don't think it puts out pure DC.

I used that odb cable with a 2.1 female power plug on the end. I already had a 12v brick with 2.1 male. I bought 5 pack like these, have set screw for the wire.

I have to ask, what is it about this tech that is driving people to it. No pun intended.

Is it the unlimited data at 20 dollars? And if it is the unlimited at 20, do you still have cell phones for voice?

Or is it the mobility? Seems the masses are making it a fixed spot device.

I replaced my exede satellite 10 GB/$50 month plan with it. Going to add remote antenna. Still got cell phone w data, but might reduce that data plan.
