my first and last Kioti

You are describing the world quite well for how it works in 2017, despite what Web Sites and other advertising claim. Your call may be recorded for quality control purposes. I wish that were true.

What dealer are you using that is taking so long? I've only dealt with the one in Lineboro and the one in Frederick. I don't much care for the Frederick dealer, but the Lineboro dealer seems to be OK. They've been selling Kioti a long long time. They replaced a head gasket on my tractor, but it took over 4 weeks. Claimed the machine shop that they had machine the head took a couple of weeks to get it back. It was at the peak of gardening season in late April.

It did appear they only had one real mechanic for the more technical repairs. That might be part of the reason. Many times, getting the part is the big delay. I believe they stock most parts in North Carolina. Just not sure about their responsiveness to dealer orders.

I'm not sure you'd see much difference regardless of brand, depending on timing and nature of repair.

It's not easy being patient when you need your machine. My head gasket occurred on the exact day that I had 20 yards of mulch dumped on a county culdesac. I had to move all of it by hand. That's the way it goes sometimes.

A Bobcat dealer may also be able to help you next time. I use them for basic parts because they are much closer.

I am using the one in Lineboro, you are correct that they have been in business a long time. Funny how your 4 weeks was the fault of a machine shop and mine is the fault of Kioti warehouse. A pattern of someone else's fault. They are friendly and pleasant but that does not mean squat when their service is trash. I do not believe anything their smiling faces say. People are accepting slow poor response from dealers, they are quick to sell but then ignore what they have sold. As far as the Kioti warehouse if they cannot ship a part within 12 hours of receiving the order then their management needs to be replaced with intelligent human beings. Dealers are all the same no matter if its a car or a tractor sell sell sell slack on support.

That is the reason I use the Kioti dealer they and the John Deere dealer are the only ones within a reasonable distance and neither are worth rat sh-t for service.

So now that you've ruled out Kioti and Deere, what will your next tractor be?

People seem to think that when they go to a dealer, they are going to "EXPERTS" Nothing is further from the truth. Very often, it's the first time, that mechanic has seen that machine or problem. Many dealers carry so many lines of equipment with so many models AND will accept anything coming through the door, how can you expect experience for all that? Oh, and sadly I have met more then a few mechanics that can't read or write.

I have learned that unless something is under warranty (and sometimes even then) it's best to try and look after it yourself. In the end, it's far less frustration then going to a dealer. You hear about how surgeons leave stuff inside patients, and then people think mechanical service will be performed perfectly?

I am going to attempt to take the advise about finding a repair shop, I will talk with local contractors and farmers to try and find someone that actually believes in quality not just selling.

I bought my Kioti tractor used and was surprised to find kioti shop/dealer 40 miles away. Small shop but rural and farm equipment smarts. Was a good find.
But Kioti decided they were too small to maintain dealership. Bad corporate decision. Shop just kept on trucking and services my tractor and repairs as needed. Thank goodness nothing major but I will trust them with that too. Yes, good shop better than a dealership.
