Gonna put a mid mower deck on my older BX

I've had two BX's, and mmm installation/removal is, IMHO, a mixed bag. You pretty much need a flat surface, like a garage floor. I find that sometimes it goes on easier than others. FEL makes it easier as you can lift the front end making it easier to roll the mower in and out. The aforementioned PTO, well, sometimes I slide it right on and sometimes I struggle with it. I am 65 years old and this stuff isn't as easy as it used to be. The bottom line is that I try to do all my servicing in the spring or fall whilst the mower is off...doesn't seem worth the effort in the middle of the mowing season.

BP my dad has a BX and was trying to sell the MMM; said he would just use his JD rider. I can ask him if he is still trying to sell if you are interested. I know his tractor had around 500 hours on it when he bought it so the mower ain't hurt from use. It looks great. I think he was trying to get about half of what a new one would cost. I don't believe he sold it.

If BP turns it down, holler at Old Red.....

I think anybody like Old Red, myself, or anyone else mulling over whether to buy or sell attachments that posting the model number would be helpful, of course. Appreciate the post greatly and thanks 2ndhalf.

I think I listed it on CL for $900 a few months back and it didn't sell. I told him to be patient because it would take the right buyer. I also told him I wouldn't sell it if he thinks he may ever want to sell his mower because it would break up a nice package if he did. He justs texted me back and said he still has it if you want to PM your number. I can get your numbers to him.

Have a 54" MMM on my BX23. Worked fantastic..Bought a ZD724 so i don't mow much with the BX anymore--Think you'll enjoy mowing with yours.

Thanks Mike. Vegetable farming is brutal hard work. The time has come. It's all good. I agree that the ride, seat, power steering all add up to make the Kubota a superior experience, for me, than bouncing around on a typical riding mower. It just makes sense. Yes, I believe I can put the deck on in spring, do work with firewood, etc, but leave the deck on until fall. Gotta come off at point and the front QC and snow blade goes on. I think the plan seems reasonable.

Does anyone know about these different decks and their fitment to the various BX's by series? Had Jerry, a fellow TBNer, offer me his new 60" off a BX25. Any insight on whether the mounting for the BX2360 is compatible to the BX25, that'd be great information.
BP, that deck swap should be no problem. I kept my original 54" deck from my BX1850 when I traded up to my BX25 back in 2011. Completely compatible. My BX25 is of the 60 series line, so it should fit.

It also worked with my old 1860. Don't think they changed deck mounts, etc., until the 80 series came out.

Chris, first, good to hear from you again old friend. Second, my research agrees with you. When I started this thread a few days ago, I didn't know what I didn't know. :) Since, my research using Kubota Whole Goods publications, which is a great way to sniff out stuff like this, agrees with you as well. Take care.

I've had a few B's and BX's. I'm in competition with John Thomas. My current BX2670 is the first real drive-over deck, besides my last B2620, which I never drove over. I still find it really easy to lower the deck so the anti-scalp wheels set into cup dollies, disconnect the driveshaft to the deck, disconnect the pins and front link, start tractor, raise disconnected MMM lift and set height dial to "0", raise the front-end of the tractor as high as it will go with the loader, and roll the deck out. Literally, 2 minutes if the loader is on.

I only keep a mowing deck for my bx as a backup to my cheaply bought and owned Craftsman garden tractors. Use such a wonderful Kubota to cut grass with seems wrong to me. I own several Kubota for different tasks with none bring mowing.
