I've had my 7060HDC12 for a year and love it. I do highly recommend the KSA shock absorber for the loader, it makes a huge difference while traveling with a load.

Haha, just what I need, or don't need to hear since at this point I believe that is the only option I don't have now, lol. I can always add it later I suppose, but presently I really don't have a big need for it but I can see where it would be really nice for lots of FEL work, especially handling round bales which may be in my future.

If you don't plan to "road" the tractor or travel long distances across fields with a load on the FEL don't worry about it.

I've handled 1000's on round bales, never had a shock absorber, so don't worry about not having it. The real savings is using a proper QA spear so you don't have so much weight on the loader arms when "empty" Don't need to be going in road gear with a bale on the spear either. I used to move hay ONLY with a chain on spear, so you always had the whole bucket plus the spear plus the bale...

I'm not sure if the best thing about the KSA is the way it smooth's the ride for me, (even relatively slow in the field), or the amount of abuse it saves the front end of the tractor from. The 7040 without KSA compared to the 7060 with KSA is a night and day difference. I carry round bales in a hugger, do you NEED KSA? no. But I'll never own a new tractor without it again, it's good for the machine, and great for me.

Just few updates: I did not get a huge amount of seat time this month while I was home due to a vacation, me being sick, time of year and holidays. However, I love the creep gear addition. It will prove very useful for the extensive road and trail trimming I will be doing and eliminate a high % of the clutching I had to do prior to installing it. I only got in one full day of true work this time but it was doing some seriously heavy duty bush hogging of several acres that had been completely let go for over 12 years. In my area that means it has an absolute jungle that was about 15' high heavy brush and saplings/trees. I had to do 100% of it in reverse because of the size and also not wanting to scratch my new baby up, lol. While doing this I had my first regen and would have had no idea if I had not noticed the light on on the dash, this was at 23 hrs on the clock. I did the cutting with the 25 year old Hardee 6' cutter we have always run behind the 3930. The type cutting I did would have been a HUGE struggle with the 3930 power wise and operationally (shifting F/R countless times). The 7060 made it darn near effortless and tireless! The shuttle shift was a bit too abrupt in the early hours of operation but after I finished this all day cutting job, with countless shifts, it is now smooth as butter, so it just needed some break in time and that was nice to see. We actually got a few inches of snow a few weeks back that that is extremely rare on the gulf coast. I has sick but still wanted to go outside .....so I took the 2 grandkids (4 and 5 yo) and the tractor out in a big field and let them take turns steering the tractor and just driving wherever they wished while we all stayed nice and warm in the cab I also have my 3rd function installed and grapple now and got to play with it just enough to know I am REALLY going to like it. Here are a couple pictures of the stuff I cut, it all looked like a forestry mulcher had come through when I finished.

It is a dealer installed option even if you order it on a new tractor. From what I read you can install it your self fairly easily with the hardest part being draining the hydo fluid and putting it back. I didn't know much about it so I didn't order it when I ordered the tractor but after seeing I needed the lower speed options for my uses I had the dealer order and install when they picked it up to install my 3rd function kit that did not arrive before I took delivery. Total cost was $850 installed. Well worth it IMO. What is gives it is a 3rd and lower range so in creep you have 6 more gears that go from about .2 MPH up to around .9 MPH where low range 1st starts at just over 1 MPH. The actual numbers are in the OM and I just pulled them from my feeble memory here. May not be very useful for many but I if you have use for it, it is a high value option IMO. With it you go from a 12 speed to an 18 speed

How hard is it to put creep kit in? Seems like it would have to be a difficult job?

I think they charged me 2 hours labor. I have read it is very easy to do with the hardest part being draining the hydo and putting it back.

I considered a kit but decided my uses were too rare to justify the cost. Mechanic I talked to said it would take me 3-4 hours depending on how much time I spent reading the instructions.

I added the dual PTO speed kit. That took an hour. Could repeat the process in 30 minutes. Parked the rear wheels of the tractor on 18" blocks. Only had to drain about 1/3 of the oil that way.

I didn't know you could add a dual PTO kit. That's surprising. Wonder if I could add that to my M7040. Probably not.

I'm guessing you can. Mine requires the output shaft to be swapped when changing speeds. The different shafts are driven by a different gear inside the tractor. A snap ring holds the shafts in place. If I park the tractor with the nose downhill I can swap without losing any fluid. I used it quite a bit until I bought the Ford. Now the Ford does the 540 work, Kubota does the 1000 work. I haven't swapped since buying the Ford.

Maybe do some Google searching?? I've not been around the 7040 so don't know if the rear housing is the same and would take the same kit?? I think I did a thread on the install. Can't remember if I used photobucket pics, if so they are gone. It would still have the narrative to give you and idea of what's involved. Pretty simple. Can't remember what I paid for the kit....

Can you tell a little more about the trailer? It looks like a tilt bed but how long is it? It a snug fit but it works.

I don't know about that tilt bed, but those GMC aluminum wheels look good on it!
