Is that 2" a standard SA cylinder with breather....or is it a display mentioned type like an actual plow cylinder?

I don't follow you. :( What is the breather? Can you check the link? It says its made for snow plow applications

There is no breather on those piston, If you have a double action cylinder like on a dump trailer you put a breather in and use one line power up gravity down

Yes that is a plow cylinder. But for lift.

Get the 1.5x10 or 1.5 x 12 and design around that.

A non-plow SA cylinder is typically like a DA cylinder, with a breather vent on the rod side. Meaning the rod side stays dry.

A plow cylinder is more of a displacement type. Meaning that there is no Piston at all. So no Piston seals. Just the gland and packing. Better for this application because no moisture worries, or leaking Piston seals blowing out a breather and dumping oil on the ground.

Again, stop trying to reinvent the wheel. 1.5x10 or 1.5x12 plow cylinders are tried and true.

Ok I hear you. No thrying to reinvent the wheel though, I had no idea about tha breather. I have already made the design to fit a 6" cylinder so to not extend too much in front of the tractor.

Arrgg, I have to change it again??

Are you building this from "scratch" rather than using a truck plow?

ok,ok don't yell!! I did the math. The 6" cylinder is providing such a low torque, because is pushing too close to the pivot point. Its officially decided, I am going to the 10" or 12" (and now I know why )

yes. Its not a big expence. I am almost done with the design. I am working the fine details of cylinders mounts. Btw, is 10gauge good enough for the push plate? like 1/8" thickness?
