Thanks,
She ain't pretty.
but does have the turboed Detroit , an Alison with the add on box that gives an extra low creeper gear and the Axle Lock feature.

When the city water department had it, they actually licensed it for 61,000 lbs.!? :confused2:
That has to be way over what GM intended, but OK
The GMC can haul (conservatively) something like 2 to 3 times the weight that the dump trailer can.

People haul 10 tons in single axel C7000s. How much does the truck weigh? Grossing 61000 is probably more than 20 tons in the bed. How much are you trying to get for the GMC?

That sounds more like the combination weight not th gross truck weight. Should have at most 23k rear axle and a 12k-ish front axle.

Yep, a DOT cop with scales would be excited to pull someone over with 60k on a 2 axle truck...

Not sure what it weighs, and I just used it to move dirt/ gravel around on the property then my sisters family needed it after I got done servicing it and fixing the air lock gate .
they were putting in a new driveway and I haven't got it back.
This summer I want to extend our driveway into a loop and will need either it or the dump trailer.
We have a large crushing plant about 7 miles away and I will be getting whatever I need from them, so not a long round trip.

Single rear axle C 7000's haul 10 tons of fill?

Well even that is way more than the dump trailer which I believe is rated for a 5 or 6 ton load.

This 7000 is a 3 axle truck so it should haul more.

Hauling capacity really doesn't make a huge difference to me- since other than needing shavings for horse pens and maybe some loads of sand for winter, there aren't a whole lot of jobs I will need it for in the foreseeable future other than the driveway project.

As far as the weight is concerned- I was just going by the decals the city put on the dump bed and what the maintenance guy said at the sale.
So somewhat of an assumption on my part.:confused3: It is probably Combined Gross weight

I need to talk to my siblings again concerning future hauling plans since we are in the process of acquiring a couple rentals which may need some gravel driveway work also. Still (confused )

Well I just happened to miss that 2nd axle. It very well may be 61k for your state. I assumed it was a SA.

They might not actually fit 10 tons of dirt but they’ll haul 10 tons of gravel. Here’s 6 rick of firewood on one. IMG_0468.JPG

1967 Loadstar with a sixteen foot steel bed, scissor hoist, single ram. It is pretty convertible, I have a huge box I bolt on to it, or five foot side boards, or one foot sideboards.
345, five and two. Not the fastest but the gears are the key. I haul five six yards of rock, equipment, raw logs for firewood or saw milling. I used to keep it licensed for 28K, it weighs 11,500 or less empty. Oregon ag plates are legit for me, not too costly.

Die hard ol truck, I've had it forty years. It would be nice to have a similar truck with diesel and power steering, but it still works, runs down the road, stops, and gets a thumbs up when they pass me by.

Wow, that's a great looking Loadstar hslogger!! I had the chance to buy a 3 yard dump loadstar, ~1973 vintage. I passed, thinking at the time that it was too much of a project.

I hope my truck looks half that nice once it's painted... I currently have about $4800 into it, not including the plow or scraper. I still haven't managed to sell the spare 366 that it came with either, so I'll get some money out of that if I ever find a buyer.

The hoist showed up Friday, so I'll get working on the install later this week. Then I need to bleed the brakes really well and see if I can get some pedal. I did a panic stop in it the other say and was NOT impressed, but I may have simply been out of pedal travel...

The first pedal apply goes pretty much to the floor before you get any stopping at all. Because it's Hydrovac, both the apply and return of the pedal are terribly slow, so you currently have to anticipate the need to stop by 15 seconds or more if you want good pedal and decent braking power.

Shoes are all adjusted tight to the drums, so I think there must be air in the system somewhere... Original owner said he bled it numerous times and never improved the pedal. I'm thinking a pressure bleed might purge whatever air is still there. If that doesn't work, I'm scraping the hydrovac for a newer hydroboost setup with a dual reservoir master. I know I can get that to bleed out, and I'll probably get quite a bit more braking power too...
