Can I buy a trailer for my tractor around $2000

It looks like if I do end up getting the mahindra 2538, the tractor weighs 3200 give or take, loader another 1000, and if I ever were to add backhoe it woukd probably be around 5500lbs. I'm guessing,,, I think 7k give would be close but ok

That looks like a lot of weight for a 1/2 ton PU.

If you can believe it, this is just at the axle rating for the truck I have a pic somewhere for the scale ticket. It is over for the gcwr tho. In any case i only pull this load about 1 mile away. If I go further the 1 ton will take it.

I could go for something like that at that price because I do not want to go with less than 7-8 ton twin axles if 82" or wider. Nice find. Is the deck steel or wood.

It is wood. And that was the worst thing about the trailer. Sitting out for so long on the lot, of course they didn't seal the wood, caused the wood to grey.

No big deal imo. I'll weld on a new floor when the time comes.

The color "grey" does not affect the integrity of the wood.
If the wood is solid, you can seal it now.

Been there and done that.

When I bought a trailer last year I got all the trailer my pickup could pull (GMC 1500), a tandem axle with 2 axle brakes and a 9990# GVW. In Washington they are starting to consider any combination licensed over 16000# and any trailer with a GVW over 10,000# as a commercial vehicle and that figured into my thinking also. It doesn't require a CDL, but when the scale is open one would be required to go through. I have also noted an inordinate number of pickups with equipment trailers pulled over by commercial enforcement so I didn't want to give them any excuse. When all was said and done I was closer to $3500 for a new 18' trailer.

Is there anywhere along the east coast states where i could purchase a "New" 16-18' equipment trailer with dual axles and brakes to haul around my 4000lb. tractor,, my budget would be around $2000 So I'm not sure if it would be possible, thanks

Thanks guys, I appreciate it, calling bank later this am, I really need to sell my XJ2025 first but I hate passing up a deal so i may try and swing 2 payments for a month or 2 till spring and hopefully have more luck selling it

Is the total tractor weight 4k, including loader and implements? Then you don't even really HAVE to get a 10k equipment trailer. Most 7k car haulers can carry ~5k lbs.

That being said, people always kick themselves for getting not enough trailer. Seen it dozens of times.

For example, I'm in the same situation as you, want to haul my little 30HP machine around, probably 4-4.5k with implements. But I'm planning to wait and save for a 10k equip trailer, not a 7k car hauler.
