Kubota L2800, grader scraper size

Which size is recommended? 5' or 6'.

Driveway is about 3/8 miles long and just a bit over 10' wide.

{EDIT: I'm talking about a single rotating single blade - the OP is asking about Land plane (you'll read it several posts down)}

I use a 6 footer, when it's angled, I think it's the right size. I've used it to push snow and it works pretty good except in heavy drifted areas, then it will push the backside my tractor sideways. I just take smaller bite at that point. This is with R4 tires that don't grip that well. If you have Ag / R1 tires, you should have no problem with it.

R1 tires loaded. Won't be moving any snow with it.

I used a 7'....700 pound KK HD blade behind my old L3400. Cut well. Wouldnt want any smaller.

If you are just grading out loose stone....about any blade will be fine. But if you want to cut any hard packed drive base, or actually do more than move loose topsoil....you want no less than 100 pounds per foot of blade width for it to actually cut

Are you asking about a rear blade, or a land plane grading scraper?

A 7 footer for a rear blade and a 5 footer for a LPGS.

I'd say evert attachment should be wider than the tractor tires so I'd measure the wheel stance. What land plane did you have in mind and from who and what's the price of these? Just started looking around but either the Woods or Land Pride are what I'm thinking. Both the 5 and 6' are wider than the tractor tires. I looked at 2 LP 6'ers yesterday but both places wanted $1500 Which from my internet searching is at the top of the scale.

My Land Pride LPGS - GS2584 - 84" - 796#. My rear blade - Rhino 950 - 96" - 1035#. When you are talking ground engagement implements - weight is your friend with both the implement AND your tractor. My M6040 weighs 10,100#.

Anyhow - so much for my BS. I would recommend the six foot LPGS. Its going to be heavier than the five foot and will work nicely on your ten foot wide driveway. Up one side and back the other - thereby maintaining whatever crown is in your driveway.

Remember - the LPGS WILL NOT move material horizontally. It will do a GREAT job of smoothing the driveway - filling small pot holes - eliminating ripples and the like. If you need to move material horizontally - rear blade. If you need to scrape - collect and move material from here to there - box scraper.
