Is it possible that the hydraulic system pressure is too high? I'm pretty sure that Mahindra (or whoever makes the MAX) uses industry standard hoses and fittings and hose assembly equipment. The odds of having three hoses pop in such a short amount of time makes me think something is causing that. Have you asked the dealer about it?

I had an excavator working on my property a year or so ago, and he kept popping hoses on this track-hoe. Turns out it was the pressure SENSOR that was bad, not the hose itself. When the sensor failed the pump just kept ramping up pressure to the system. Not sure if your tractor has a pressure sensor for the hydraulics (I would think it does), but you might want to check that out.

Good luck!

Hey Mad Mac, how well dose that drag work on Hog damage? Thinking of making something similar.

I used the 4540 to make the limbing/bucking of this pine easier and then move the brush to the fireplace along with the rounds to our splitting area.

The Max has nothing fancy like an open center pump, or pressure sensors. real basic non adjustable pressure relieve valve spring and seat.

Max 28 has very low pressure (2100 psi) max) to start and SAE #5 (5/16) hoses & Fittings
They flow like crap.
Unless you hit or shock the loader, it should not break.
Hoses are funny, they get stressed from bending and not all hoses are born equal.

I just changed my hydraulic fluid to a good semi synthetic. (5 gal of Duraguard Universal) then 3 quarts of Komatsu fluid as make up.
It does not seem to flow much better in the cold.

My hydraulics are also slowed by having 1526 Loader curl cylinders on the Max28 as they are larger volume.

But hydraulics are not that fast on the stock loader lift cylinder when cold either.

I started to change the front axle fluid. 290 hours on the machine and I never changed it at 50 hours.

Manual said it should be hydraulic oil. what was in there was clean gear oil, no metal, so I did not change the gear oil, I just topped it off what little I changed and will wait for warm weather to let it drain well.

Hey Mad Mac, how well dose that drag work on Hog damage? Thinking of making something similar.

It is adequate for most hog rooting. Just keep making passes until satisfied.
For severe, deep rooting we have a box blade that we use.

I installed bolt on hooks & clevis mounts on my loader bucket, and fab'd a mount that attaches to the ROPS to support a small tool box.
Do you have a pic of the toolbox mount?

I used a piece of fiberglass angle, 2 x 2 x 1/4" from my work and a small Craftsman tool box. Routed out the leg to fit around the ROPS bar, and used the flat plate from a U-bolt with standard bolts to attach it. The u-bolt just isn't as clean fitting and looking IMO. I mounted the box to the angle with small bolts with wing nuts on the inside so it can be easily removed if needed. It's just enough for a few odds & ends stuff that I might need while out and about. The seat just clears the box when turning it around for using the hoe.

Nothing! It is broke down. Little or nothing electronic works. Turns over but no power to glow plugs, pump etc. No dash lights or turn signals. I am beginning to regret the purchase.

I have a 2538 with no issues. Have a quick hitch I don’t like & will change out very soon. Started installing a fence today, the old post hole digger worked like a champ. Probably will finish fencing 5 acres by Saturday and the Mahindra is earning its keep.

Got my new one.

Learning the hard way. The 2438 HST does not have a reverse PTO. So when digging fence post you will eventually tangle with a tree root and you can’t extract the digger. Being able to reverse the PTO would be great. First choice is to rock tractor back and forth/vigorously, if that doesn’t work, disconnect from auger bit and remove it manually. Still love the HST. More digging, setting, and stretching fence tomorrow.

Removing the auger bit is definitely DOING it the hard way, not sure how much ya learn doing it that way. 99% of tractors can't reverse the PTO.

Leave the auger on the post hole digger, leave the post hole digger on the tractor. Disconnect the PTO shaft at the tractor, put a bar through the universal joint to rotate it. Turning the auger with the PTO shaft is MUCH easier as you have the gearbox working for you, not to mention that after getting it turned loose a little, the tractor can lift the auger from the hole much easier than your back.

Whoever started this idea that the best solution is to take the auger bit off a stuck PHD really needs slapped. We buy tractors to do the work. The implements have gear boxes that reduce the effort needed to complete the work. Use these things, don't just chuck them to the side at the first issue...

I added a tool box to my 2538 yesterday. I also installed a cup holder that I designed and 3D printed. It uses two unused, existing holes (I'm guessing they're for mounting a cab) in the fender. Next up is an ammo can chain box.

That's really **** cool. Nice work! I've got a 2538, and a house in Austin as well. I'm currently displaced in New Hampshire. If you ever decide to put those cup holders into production, please send me a PM, I'd be happy to be your first customer.

Fought the snow. Got about 14". Using the pusher, I managed to get rid of a lot of it. Then followed up by plowing with my Mule. The combo works really well.

Trimmed some trees up and couldn't run some of the bigger limbs through the chipper, so......

I'm more impressed with this little machine every time I use it! Good thing I had the back blade on for a little extra counter weight. lol I think I need a set of forks.
