The sleeve should not rotate on the bolt. It should be stationary with the yolk/ frame.
I would have to believe the bearing/bushing that turns is in the wheel itself.

Took an extra day off work for the holiday.

Got the tiller and parts all sandblasted and primer and painted today.

Going to let it all dry a few days then re assemble with new hardware and new decals.

Did that thing is going to look like absolutely showroom New! Mine is going to look good from a distance but it will obviously not look like new, beings that I don't have a sandblaster there was no way for me to make it look that good. There used to be a local industrial sandblasting place about 30 miles away but they closed up a few years ago and there's nothing within any reasonable distance of me.

Thanks!

My buddy does sandblasting and painting for a living. I was going to use his setup. But I ended up just using my harbor freight 110lb pot. My brother in law works at a sand plant so the sands free. Didn’t take to long to get it stripped down to bare metal. I was in a hurry and never let the paint dry much between coats so I am sure it will take forever to try. But looking at the forcast I won’t even be needing the tiller for at least a few weeks. I am going to let it dry for awhile and then decal it. I bought all new hardware to replace every bolt and nut I can get to.

I spent 104$ at the dealer buying all the new decals/parts from landpride. Really money I didn’t need to spend but it will look new. I could have just ran it the way it was when I bought it. But what fun is in that

I did sort of the same thing I spent a little over $400 at the dealer for the new Wheels and stickers and belt that I wanted to make it as close to New as I can. I also replaced the we're bushings that insert into the ends of the tube where your gauge wheels slide up in, and I replaced the coil spring that keeps the tension on the Belt. The only mechanical Parts I didn't replace are the spindles themselves but they still feel very tight and they all took Greece easily.

Got all the pieces successfully moved into the garage and turned the heat on.

Thanks, I always have to put a little twist on things. I painted the brackets that the lower links go on, the skid shoes, and the parking stands black. I like a little contrast in colors. Should look good in the end.

The restoration of my Land Pride FDR2572 finish mower has come to the end... Almost. I've but one thing left to do, change the gear box lube over to Amsoil.

Question, there is a pipe plug on the top horizontal plate to fill, there is a pipe plug on the rear facing wall of the gear box that I assume is the fill level because it is just above the bottom of the bearing. I hope I'm not being an idiot here.... How does it get drained?

I see the vent sticking up, the fill, and the level plug. No freaking drain plug! Okay, call me an idiot, but when your done... Tell me the procedure to drain, flush and properly refill.IMG_20180406_171352519_HDR.jpgIMG_20180406_171328796_HDR.jpgIMG_20180406_170759590_HDR.jpgIMG_20180406_170813003_HDR.jpgIMG_20180406_170830105_HDR.jpg

I asked the Kubota dealer service that very question. He said that they (he) sucks the gear oil out with a vacuum pump. I didn't like that answer, so I lifted my (mower deck in this case) with the FEL and let it drain that way. IIRC there was a drain plug under the gear box frame, but couldn't hardly get a wrench on it.
Cheers Rock.
