Has two sensors. I think they monitor flow. Was told I could deny request to run regen cycle as many times as I like, but the end result is that the DPF would stop up at some point. How many hours I don't know. I use a tractor a lot in the winter running a 3 point log splitter pto pump at around 1k rpm. Tractor won't like that. The benefits of removing the filter outway any problems it may cause. If I have too I will just buy a scan tool for it down the road.

I'm a little "green" (or maybe just confused). It seems log splitters are pretty cheap compared to the cost of tractors (both in original cost and maintenance costs and operating costs). Dedicating a great deal of hours on a new tractor to sitting still and running at idle speeds seems like something reserved for old equipment or different equipment. I mean no disrespect . . But my tractor I want to "run" and use the hours for seeing fel arms moving and tires spinning and etc.. I've cut and split a lot of wood in my life too.

AxleHub. I have narrow paths through the woods where I cut firewood. Some of these paths are 3/4 mile long. I need 4x4 to get in and out because of creek crossings and swampy areas. It works for me to take the tractor way back in there with the splitter. I cut the trees I want, split them, load up the split wood in the front bucket and bring it out. I just sold my TYM tractor a few days ago. I have a Kubota L35 with loader and backhoe. Too much trouble to take the hoe off to use three point. So as of now I must use my new tractor to run the log splitter. I may set it up to do a auto regen while splitting wood. Tractor only has 3 hours on it so It shouldn't do a regen anytime soon.

So it seems like your log splitter has a self-contained hydraulic system and you just power the hydraulic pump with the tractor PTO. If that's the case I would be buying a separate motor and a different pump for the log splitter. Would probably also try to convert it to a tow behind, then you could disconnect and load the bucket straight from the splitter. Just tow it with the tractor, shut the tractor off, and run the splitter.

Yes runs off a prince pto pump. At 1000rpm the splitter will fly. I can't tow a splitter to a lot of my locations because of swampy rutted up paths and sometimes deep creek crossings. Also very tight to turn something around.

FWIW, at the Omaha Cabela's, yesterday, (22 Jan 2017) there were two LM36s (one with HST, one geared) and at least three LM 46s, which I did not look at much at all.

Yeah, gut the DPF! It wont hurt the tractor or set any codes. Unless diesel soot or smell bothers you. The DPF will get rid of the smell and soot.

Anything new with the Cabela's Tractors these days?
How are everyones working?

Mine is good, busy with other projects lately, not much seat time for several months.

Golden, just curious where you are on your hour meter? Sorta kicking myself for not taking advantage of the 55 when I had the chance. Did plenty of looking back then but just never could commit.

I've a little 25hp. Have had two things that weren't my own doing. Fuel tank cracked. And muffler at bolt flange cracked. I got both parts and have replaced. The local dealer wouldn't do labor as they had no mechanic. And as of January 1st, they won't do any as they are now owned by a contract maintenance for bass pro. So I do t know what I'll do except call when anything else breaks. My bumper to bumper is out, but engine and tranny for a couple more years. 120 hours in two years.
