What Makes Kubota Better Than Kioti

Just a comment on Kioti resale value. One of the Kioti dealers I had shopped had a used CK35 on the lot and the owner (allegedly) traded it in for a cabbed model after getting frostbite snowplowing. Now, granted, it was only a few years old, and had <100 hours on it, but the dealer said he wouldn't be able to sell it as long as he had the new CK3510s on the lot because he wouldn't be able to break even on it. So, that 3yo machine was selling for just a little bit less than a brand new tractor with full warranty. Compare that to a new car / truck that drops 20% in TMV within the first year of ownership.

And, FWIW, I don't put alot of value in trade-in value. We tend to keep our machines forever. I just put a new battery in a nice Simplicity lawn tractor from c1978 to give to a freind because it still runs and works well, but we wouldn't be able to get anything on a trade-in for it. For those working thier machines and need a relatively new, reliable machine every couple of years, thier thoughts may be different.

Often, nothing at a dealer is as it seems. Sometimes a dealer will take a unit on consignment to make a new sale and the customer doesn't want to loose all that money. So the thing sits there forever with an unrealistic price. Out in the world selling prices is what is most accurate.

For me, a 3 year old tractor with less than 100 hours is proven to be reliable, where a brand new one needs a warranty because its reliabiility is unknown. I'd go for the used one over new even at the same price or maybe even a bit higher!

At least I would as long as I could do two thing: Talk to the previous owner to confirm, and ask the dealer for a short term guarantee that it doesn't come with problems.

Besides, doesn't Kioti have a longer than 3 year warranty? I think that Kubota does...or does it?

There is no best brand, best transmission, best size, etc. for a tractor. It does not exist. Kiotis are good, Kubotas are good, Deeres are good, LSs, Masseys are good, ....... lots of good tractors.

Well, no disrespect, but I disagree. I personally think some brands are better than others. In my case, I LOVE KUBOTA... I not only have all Kubota equipment, but I have Kubota tool boxes, stools, shop vac, etc. Now, I realize those items are "branded", but I still think it's cool. That being said, it's what I want... not making any judgments.

Steppenwolf.
You truly appear to be all in concerning kubota. I have only owned the current MX, and find it dependable. The availability of an all glass cab w/ the OEM appearance has been very rewarding. But can you really demonstrate your unfettered loyalty without a kubota bathrobe, matching slippers and shower curtain? Honestly, a humorous remark could be made about the shop vac, but as stated, I like kubota. Have little desire to own kioti, need incentive to switch brands when satisfied.

y, a humorous remark could be made about the shop vac,

I am not sure the Kubota marketing department was really thinking when they branded a shop vac with their name. I mean depending on which port you put the hose, on, it could be said that either Kubota "sucks" or Kubota "blows".

Now all that said.. I sure don't feel that way about Kubota machines. maybe just Kubota vacuum's. :D

KOua,
Sure you meant kubota sucks all the air out of the room, suffocating the competition, or they blow away the competition. Now I feel better about the shop vac product. Just lighthearted banter.

I've never bought a single item in my life because it had a "brand" name on it. I just don't get it. My closest Kubota dealer has an old style pop machine in Kubota orange with their logo all over it. One of those horizontal models that you open the top, like a deep freeze, to get your pop. I didn't even ask the price.....

It was all in good fun... I harbor no ill will towards Kubota. I owned two of them.

I won't even get started on the garbage tranny in our JD. The factory wasn't even aware they were building tractors with inoperable transmissions. Nice quality control!

That gasket would have cost them a buck! Fortunately I have "Martin Farm Service" a menonite JD expert, but not dealer that does all my work. They leave the sophisticated and "modern" dealers in the dust for actually knowing these tractors.

Off topic. A friend was at his mechanic and they were working on replacing a Dodge Cummins Oil Pan Gasket. $3500.00 on account of the complexity of the operation. Yeah. That's our "modern" version of progress.

I know what you mean. The last time my nephews bought a new Deere (9000 series) when the dealer brought it out he couldn't get it to move off of the truck and finally took it back with him. it started and sounded good but just didn't want to go anywhere.
