Not a chance I would put those narrow little tires in it.

Well, between your Kubota and your Jeep you obviously like oversized tires. I remember when my son bought a new Dodge 4wd truck and put on big tires--looked cool for sure, but at highway speeds the tranny would hunt all over the place, even on level ground, and of course the speedo was messed up. He got so sick of it he sold it and moved to Singapore. :) Moral of the story is that the folks that engineer these things generally know a lot more than we do. I'm also thinking that the dealer should have caught this problem before you made the commitment. One thing's for sure--when the grass starts growing you ain't gonna be happy. I wish you the best of luck.

I'll ask one more time because I didnt' see an answer, and maybe I missed it, but it made it up the hill struggling in mid-range, and it didn't improve much in low range. It should have improved drastically in low range, but didn't. Why not?

No, it could make it in mid range by dramatically slowing down to the point of barely moving in mid range, in low range without the loader you could stay at full HST and the PTO RPM would drop to around 400.

Go back to the stock tires and take off the loader and that could be the simplest fix.

Agreed.

If mine, I would revert to the OEM 2650 wheels/tires, remove the FEL, and convert to a 60" mower, preferably a MMM, but with the BH frame, probably required to use a three point mounted.

The backhoe subframe does not prevent you from having a mid Mount mower, the oversized tires do. If I had to get rid of the oversized tires, I would rather get rid of the tractor. What I'll likely do is just buy another garden tractor with a 54 inch deck and cut with that if this won't work. But I'm starting to think that this is going to work out okay with the front loader removed, so I don't think it's going to be a big issue.

I know how it feels to buy a under-powered tractor. I've done it twice. I guess it's only money.

Glad you found solution by taking the loader off. It'd be a shame to have to sit on a little cheap lawn tractor again.

LOL, I love my little 26hp garden tractor though. I dread it's demise, with about 600 hours on it... I'm not sure how much life is left in the Kohler Courage it in the Hydro Gear G730 transmission. I have run Amsoil in the Kohler since new, so I hope that the oil adds time to the EPA class C (500 hour) engine, and I change the HST filter and use Cub Cadet branded HST every 200-ish hours. So I'm really wanting to see 1000 hours from this thing! But it cuts fast, nearly home owner zero turn speeds being 6.5 mph. I average over 5 moving mph over the 5.7 miles that run it cutting the yard. IMG_20170818_145017144_HDR-EFFECTS.jpegScreenshot_20170917-124439.jpeg
