i use a hilift jack , SO many more uses than changing blades
That is the one thing I would never use. I have seen too many of those things slip and fall. I will stick with my FEL, much less likely to have a mishap with a chain attachment.

The high lift jack should come with a coffin. Working under one of those things is insane. I agree that the forklift or FEL is safer by a long shot. I’d also say the forklift is safer than the little dinky mower jacks. I’m using a forklift rated very conservatively to lift 5,000 pounds and the front of my mower might weigh 500 pounds. The mower jack is pretty much working at its design limits.

Reading this thread reminds me why I'm happy I bought a zero turn with an electric flip up deck. I never even need to get down on the ground.

What brand did you buy? Been considering the Hustler flip up, kinda getting to old to crawl under anymore.

I bought a Country clipper, my second since I sold my old one when I moved. Very easy maintanence, and a flip up deck. Very happy!

I've got the Hustler Flip with the electric jack screw. Move a pin from one hole to another, Move a lever and press the switch. I can swap blades by just bending at the waist. Easy to wash out too. I'll admit washing the belt area is not quite so good though. Neighbor has a Husqvarna ZT and his foot plate lifts off for access which is nice. No flip up deck thogh. He has his mower picked up by the dealer and serviced once a year. I swap to sharp blades about every third mowing.

Another neighbor has the Country Clipper with the joystick. Tried it and it's kind of neat. I guess you can mow and drink an adult beverage as you can drive with one hand free.

I don't know if his deck flips up or not. If it does I don't believe it's electric. I'm 72 and wanted the electric flip up.

Just looked at the Country Clipper video. More steps involved than with the Hustler and at least in the video the deck only looks to go about 45 degrees from vertical.

Have you had any problems with the belt coming off, I’ve read some reviews about this problem and safety switch issues. How does it ride and mow? It’s hard to tell on the dealers smooth parking lot and I doubt if they would let me demo it at home.

Thanks for your comments.

When I first got the unit I had a belt issue. It would throw it off at one of the spindles. Dealer checked and there was a new belt guard to be added. They got the part, I installed it and no issues since.

My property is not very smooth so I added their sprung caster wheel assembly. It rides as well, or better than my JD tractor does. The seat safety switch does seem a little sensitive to me. If I try and get my phone out of my side pocket it sometimes tries to kill the engine. Good thing I'm overweight I guess.

My dealer had a field next door so I did get to drive it on a semi rough surface and it was OK. Some dealers do provide units for testing at home I'm told. Doesn't hurt to ask. Tell them if you can't try it on your yard, no deal.

I use a mo jack that I raise with a cordless drill, had it for 11 years no problems, I feel safe working under the mower with the locks thatç—´ on it.

And I went to the Mo Jack instead of the high lift jack. And now that I no longer have a ZTR mower, I'd sell a perfectly goof Mo Jack cheap just to get it out of my way.

It's the MoJack EZ rated for 300 lbs. and of course I have the manual that came with it, including the parts list, but of course it's never needed any parts.
