Pallet Fork extensions

Tried out new Titan 72" fork extensions today placing newly painted diesel tank stand on its new base. Worked very well although not a heavy load. Used some sections of old inner tube to protect the paint on the stand.

Assume you are presently using 2x wood extensions?
I was using three 2x8's and one of them broke in half, and they flex a lot.

McMaster has 2-3" rectangular steel tubing in six foot lengths for $40-50 each. This would require drilling a couple of holes in each fork and getting some substantial bolts, but should do the job. But I only have a battery powered drill at the camp so I may have to bring the forks home to get them in a drill press if I go that way. Those tubes could be used for other purposes as well.

Have a set of Titan 48" x 4000lb. clamp-on forks and stabilizer bar for sale in the TBN Private Party Adds at a great price.

Bought them for our Kubota B2710 which we sold back in November. Used only twice so essentially brand new. We are in Texas.

Thanks for the tip. Bought 84x4.5 forks from Titan for $179 shipped.

They only weigh 96 lbs. Seven feet should allow me to pick them up from the front. Current forks are not long enough because the skis extend out from the front. The existing forks support them the first three feet do they should be plenty strong.

This will be super convenient because we store them in a shed without fuel or battery. Probably use it to move firewood as well.

I have Titan 72" extension forks. I have used them only a couple of times but they surely come in handy when needed. My only regret is that if I had it to do over again I would buy the 84" versions. At negligible additional weight they would offer more flexibility, IMO. However, I started with 48" forks, so that is a consideration in retrospect.

The 72" ones are what I ordered off eBay today. Our Cat 2 3PH Westendorf forks are only 42" so I started to go with the 60" at $103 but went with the 72" for only $24 more. The 265 MF is heavy with weighted rear wheels and alcohol filled 16.9 x 28 tires widened out to 4/5 of max spread. With the max lift height of 6' makes this lower risk than say a FEL of tilting. The 48" mask offers Zero to 42" gap because the forks that are each 3" wide.

Using only the OEM forks I moved three very long power grid poles last week. While the forks would lift all three the tractor's lift would not lift them so I carried one then two on the last trip with them about 2' off of the ground.

Clearly all of these side on, clamp on and chain on makeshift solutions can be dangerous but not so much if being careful of the law of gravity.

My 84” came last week, used them yesterday. They make moving around the snow machines a lot easier and faster.

This is a Yamaha Venture, a two-up 4 stroke sled that’s about as heavy as they get: probably over 700 lbs. No problem.

Those look really helpful! have to put them on the santa list... yeah I pull the battery and belt when I put them away so this would save a lot of pulling and grunting to get into position..

I should get some nice extensions.. I have some square steel tube 11' long (2 pieces) that I slip on over forks, have to put them so fork is on the diagonal in the tube so it fits. Works for now (the 11' steel tubing is for gate posts that have not been installed yet). A few weeks ago, I used them with some 12' 2x4s to reach way out and get my 3pt sprayer out of storage (kids are storing some of their stuff in the shop in the way for using just the forks on tractor).. the 2x4s had some bend in them but no problem lifting up the sprayer... after backing out of shop, I had trouble backing up slight slope until I put it in 4WD.. goes to show how a fairly light weight on a long lever can lift alot.. didn't have phone handy to take picture..
