Anyone ever regretted buying a HST?

I will not be mowing with it. Was hoping to stay on track and see if anyone who actually bought a HST regretted it.

Looks like the only regrets is from those without one.

I will agree with how quiet the NH tractor is inside the cab and out. One can hold a normal conversation on the phone and the one on the other end does not even know you are running the tractor. I love my T4.120

I can't believe how defensive some people get at the mere suggestion that they might have a whiny tractor.

AND they paid a lot more to get it, you'd think they would embrace it!

I'll be buying a 40-45 hp tractor later this year. Have any of you regretted buying a tractor in this power range with an HST? If so, why did you regret it?

If you did buy one with a HST still happy with your choice?

I owned a John Deere 50 HP gear drive for several years. Last February I dropped down to a 34 HP and bought a Massey Ferguson HST . I really hesitated on buying HST not having any experience with HST except my riding mowers...Now that I have used the MF HST, would never go back to a gear drive...HST is a time saver and so much easier at manuvering. Use it for brush hogging , tilling and loader work. It does whine some ,but I wore ear plugs anyway with the gear drive. The brush hogging is for approx. 25 Acres..No regrets at all.

I was basing it on the BX's in the neighborhood. They seem to whine quite a bit.

My hydro was great for baling today, and no whine. Lol.

I had about 40 yrs on gear tractors. I now have an mx5800hst. Love it and dont notice the whine. Course im an old guy and my hearing isnt the greatest. I will say that driving that tractor is quieter than my mower

I prefer the whining of my tractor over the whining of my wife and my dog.
