bfloyd,

you are in error on several things:

1 my gc1715 is the same as a gc1720 except I don't have the backhoe and the reversable seat.

2. I have a quick attach on. my fel that I switch back and forth between a full fork set and. the bbucket and someday late this year ill add 1 of 5 grapple choices.

3. the gc2300/2400/2600 and the. gc1700s are all iseki tractors/engines and built in japan just likrr kubota, yanmar, and iseki.

Chuckle....I have been known to make mistakes and according to my wife bout everything I do is wrong! Geez, she even gets mad at me when i put night crawlers in the frig for a couple of days.<smile>
Well the2018 1705tlb and 1720-15 that i have looked at the last couple of weeks do not have a quick disconnect on the loader bucket. You are lucky if yours came with the quick attach. So, how much was the third function valve that the dealer today told me i would have to have to operate a grapple?

Now as for country of manufacture I had to talk to MF directly for that info cause the dealers did not know and was informed that the parts came from several countries. A person in this thread said that the loader and backhoe on their MF was made in the USA. The dealer yesterday said kubota is made entirely in japan and confirmed what MF said regarding Massey tractors.

I do like the MF better and would love to find a dealer with a 1526 i could check out. If the dealer gets back to me with an easy fix for the quick attach and third funntion valve I'm gonna get the gc1720TLB. I was leaning towards JD but not being able to talk to the factory and my close examination of the subframe on the 1025R knocked them outa the running.

One of he first things to learn in buying a tractor is. . . everything you want does not come from the dealer. . . either because of cost or choices available. You will find that innovation and tractors are often frequent and inventive partners. But the dealers may be the outlet for the manufacturer. . . but the creative and inventive accessories come from many sources . . . Many that the dealers don't have.

As an example. . my quick attach has a 2 inch trailer receiver built into it as well as a patented speed locking mechanism for implement attachment and detachment. More importantly, Sub-Compact tractors benefit by attachments that are very weight conscious so thy can handle more payload. You need to check with the vendor I prior mentioned before in my earlier post. They offer two different type of quick attach options for the gc1700s or the BX kubota. They offer a handful of their own built grapples (not just 1 or 2 types). Their design and construction are both better built and better designed. Vertical and horizontal grapples.

As far as manufacture locations, the Iseki tractors and engines are made in Japan. The front end loaders and backhoes are made in the U. S. And the bucket for the fel or loader are Chinese (just the buckets).

Now that 3rd party vendor I mentioned previously. . . All of their many offerings are designed, and built in Wisconsin. (except any valves or cylinders ).

You should also cross-shop the Yanmar SA324/424 subcompact tractors. They have a good dealer network in Oregon and similar to MF, their tractors are built in Japan with their accessories built by Woods and assembled in Georgia. Like another poster said, Kubota, Yanmar, and Iseki are all excellent Japanese Diesel engine manufacturers with over a century of experience.

You are lucky if yours came with the quick attach.

it's one of those somewhat mandatory options that should usually be purchased.
SSQA I believe is the acronym. You want it...

if you possibly can, get a model with/optional that has extendable lower forks. Makes it hugely easier to hook
up heavy rear implements if you swap them with some regularity. My Kubota is way easier to hook up to than either of my Masseys.

I installed the worksaver SSQA. Very nice rugged unit for the GC.. I go from the bucket to forks back and forth enough to have spent the $600 I paid for it, Best thing I have done to my tractor.

Atsah,

I've never heard of the worksaver ssqa. How much does the QA weigh ?

I've really enjoyed mytractortools.com quick attach as it allows me to switch units very quickly as well as provides a 2 inch receiver.

Well, I'll be the bad apple of the bunch. The little iseki engine seem reliable. However, it is no powerhouse by any means. The hydrostat seems OK. But with modern mf tractors it goes down hill real fast from there. Agco is basically marketing a piece of foreign made JUNK. Agco won't even stand behind their tractor. I've been around a lot of different size and brand of tractors and never seen anything like the mf 1531. I contacted the salvage yard to sell my mf 1531, and the first thing they asked about was the front axle. He said they get a couple of calls per month looking looking for front end parts. Of course my four wheel drive failed repeatedly. In the Midwest farm belt, nearly everyone owns John Deere or case-ih. My father has a JD 4100. It just kicked my mf's a** in virtually every category. Yes, it is Japanese with a yanmar engine. It has been a good little tractor. I my self are looking a another little tractor. I got news for agco: you marketed and sold me a piece of crap. You failed to stand behind your piece of junk. I am going John Deere all the way this time. Really don't even want any agco products on the property. Their loss now, not mine.

All Massey makes now is junk? Or is it, you got a lemon? some people buy tractors, cars, trucks, washing machines etc and they get a lemon, just the way it is, you happened to be one of the ones to get a Massey lemon, there is also people that get a JD, Mahindra, Kubota, Kioti Yanmar, LS, NH you name it they get a lemon. Lots of people here with great service out of there Massey's, trash YOUR tractor, don't trash them all because there not all junk..

I bought a TC45DA that I had similar luck with as yourself, I don't trash them all just because mine cost me lots of money and time and I couldn't wait to dump it, I got a lemon period, years ago I bought a shiny new GMC truck, I got a lemon, but not all GMC trucks are lemons.. If humans are involved in anything, there will be failures..

One might expect another dealer to talk down agco and talk up their own brand. But a salvage yard??? He has no skin in the game. He basically told me the different types of things he is seeing in the mf line. I said it before and I'll say it again. Others on here are having trouble with mf. I entertained the idea of buying a Kubota. That dealer was switch to Kubota from new Holland. He said he is quitting new Holland because he was having to many issues with new Holland and their product. He said he won't sell a new Holland locally cause their products are coming back with problems. He said new Holland won't take back the tractors on his lot, so he is stuck. He would not "deal on a Kubota", so I threw both new Holland and Kubota under the bus with mf. Some of the other brands, kioti, LS and others, guys are having trouble getting parts for. Mf tractors maybe fine in town, but not out in the farm belt. The clear choice and front runner is a JD in my opinion. No other tractors I've looked at even comes close in my opinion.
