Thanks Eddie. Arkansas is good and the weather is way above average in the Ozarks. And if your from a news paper and have a Yankee accent. there is considerable joking and tall tales to shock there senses. example Worst sight to see is a U-Haul trailer behind a Northern license on a car.
Texas is almost 1st. cousin status. so many have moved in .

It's all a matter of perspective. Maine is listed at #47 for weather, Florida is #2, edged out by Hawaii. I guess they don't consider things like hurricanes when they do the numbers.
I'm disappointed, Mississippi usually ranks 48 or worst in most things, and here they rated it #10! Maybe because Cost of living? I've got to admit though, coming from Vermont and Northern Virginia that Mississippi ain't got no kultur
Yep, even pigs choose to live in the sty.
Obesity may be a "local" problem. The Walmarts in Mississippi are often frequented by women so obese only one can fit in an aisle, they are wider than the shopping cart. That doesn't mean us retirees have to try and meet their standards. These lists of the best and worst come up quite often. And often as not I have to wonder, has the writer ever been in some of these states in the winter? Or even set foot into more than one locale?
Or, the ratings on health, obesity and/or health care? My "adopted" state for the last ten years, KY, usually rates low in all of the above mentioned areas. I consider the doctors that my wife and I use to be excellent. As for obesity, that may just be a personal choice and not the state's fault? Do excellent pork dishes and/or buffet tables mean that the state is at fault?

While I don't have a lot of experience in Arkansas, I'm shocked that it's number 46. I know a lot of people that have moved from Texas to there, and from what I've seen, they found a really great state to live in. Most are in the mountains, but a few are in the Southern part of the state near the Mississippi River, which is really nice too. If I sell my place, Arkansas is near the top of my list of places to consider moving to.
