Haven't watched that whole video yet, but I love his "What Makes This Song Great" videos where he breaks down songs track by track and phrase by phrase. Neat stuff.
Totally agree on, What Makes This Song Great. He makes those songs even more enjoyable when you listen to them.
Rick Beato is a great family man, too.

Well Slash Pine, you inspired me. I just bought tickets to see The Struts in October at a 1000 seat venue in Asheville, NC. I haven't been to a real rock show in 30 years. Even thought about getting the VIP pass to meet the band but I'm more put off by the cheese-factor than the money. I guess I'm just not that sort of a fan....but I'll kick myself if they ever get huge......I'm sure my wife and I will be the oldest people in the crowd (55) and we'll both have ear plugs in. I wore ear plugs even when I went to concerts in the 1990s. Not sure if the kids wear them or not. Don't really care. A significant part of my hearing loss was due to seeing Foreigner and Lover Boy back in 1981.....back when bands were still proud of "turning it up to 11".....which I'm now convinced was almost entirely to cover up for sloppy playing. My ears rang for 12 days (I counted them) after that show.

I got to see them free on the Foreigner 4 tour at Notre Dame. I fueled their airplane, they gave me tickets.

I’m 52. Went to quite a few concerts in the 80’s and early 90’s. Then after ‘93 didn’t go to another until 2011. Like you said, I thought I’d be the oldest one there. My son who went with me assured me this would not be the case and there would be many folks my age there. He was right. I tend to like “harder” rock than most of what’s been mentioned in this thread. Was only 10 or 12 rows from center stage at a Disturbed/Breaking Benjamin concert and right at the stage at a Chevelle show. They still crank it out loud.

I can see how the music their writing today would probably sound OK to someone that never heard any music from the 60's and 70's.

What is referred to as music these days and is a major portion of the grammy awards...I do not even consider "music"...calling it noise would be a compliment...!

For me, 60’s not so much. But I did grow up in the 70’s and music was a big part of my enjoyment. So I did hear that and still prefer the last 20 years.
