Skylights in the roof?

Fairly common now days. They are the same shape as the roof metal. Does make a big difference.

Pole barn is named for the construction method of using poles, it can be open or sided. It's proper name is post frame construction. Also see NFBA, National Frame Building Association.

Just wondering if you considered putting them across the side at the top, just under the eave? Do you get much hail in your area?

A good friend was painting his barn roof and his new bride came up to help. She stepped on a skylight, fell thru and died.

He later killed himself, never got over it. Sad..

All this debate about truss design ... I think everyone needs to take a look at the pictures again.

It appears to me the only 2x4's in the trusses are the web. The bottom cord looks like 2x6 and the top cord looks like 2x8.

Nobody is talking about the trusses. They look perfect. The purlins are the boards that span the distance between the trusses. To some of us who build and work on houses for a living, they are smaller for such a long span, then we would use. While they are probably fine, it is just a little surprising to see them up there.
