Thanks Ed. R19 batt insulation in the walls and R40 blow in insulation in the ceiling. OSB wall liner. Metal panel ceiling liner. Hydro radiant floor heat. I expect my shop to be as comfortable as my house. I spend a lot of time there during Winter. I'm Blessed and spoiled.

I just finished my 30x40 with osb wall liner. I'm going to paint it and heard it soaks up paint like nobody's business. Are you painting it or going over it with metal?

Used to be that R30 was considered the standard for attic spaces, but now they are saying R60 is where you get your most return on your insulation. My house and my parents houses are both at R 60. I also did their garage at R60 without any AC. Just R13 in the walls and insulated garage doors. It's really nice in there during the heat of summer. I was shocked at how well it works!!!

If using fiberglas blow in, how many inches do I need for R60? I can't find any solid information as to what R value an inch is. I'm planning on 15.

Also which is preferred, fiberglas or cellulose??

Attic Cat costs the same as the nasty stuff when comparing coverage and it's super nice to work with. No mask and no itching. R30 is about a foot thick and R60 is two feet thick.

Thanks for the quick response Eddie!!!! If I remember right, my supplier mentioned ProCat??? Hoping to get the ceiling done this week. Maybe the walls too depending on how I am my old (67) helper/friend hold up.

Update time. Been pretty hectic the past week or so....

My builders took little time to tin the shop. They are so precise in their skills that they pre-drill every screw hole with no misses. Wayyyy beyond my capabilities.

Overhangs took the most time. 12" on the eaves. 18" on the gables. This eliminates waste of roof tin.

My buddy and I had planned to do all of the interior. My builders got done with the outside mid-day so I asked them if they would do the ceiling metal liner. 2 hours and 45 minutes later it was done. Would have taken us 3 days minimum...?br>

After the ceiling Don and I insulated and sheeted the end wall where the overheads are located. This allowed us to hang the doors which made the building weather proof. Finally.

Once the doors were on we started working on the interior walls. Stapled up R19 faced fiberglass insulation. Didn't capture a pic of that process. Then sheeted with 1/2" OSB.
