From what I have read these compact backhoes aren't made for what a lot of ppl want to do with them, I wanted a backhoe too, but from reading a lot of posts about them, not to mention the $7000 to add one, I figured I could rent a small excavator and get the work done faster and not worry about breaking my own equipment. bucket operation is great the lift and dump or lift and curl is a tad slow but it will do it which is a must if doing a bunch of work. So a local Kioti dealer quoted me a little over $20000 for a ck4010 for the tractor and bucket before tax. I found a 2018 ck3510 with 12hrs on craigslist it a little over an hour away from me the guy was asking $17000. I knew every tractor for sale online within 200 miles of me the day it was posted so I jumped on that one. For that reason i have a ck3510 not a 4010. if it was 12hr 4010 I would own that. I have the exact same warranty as the guy who bought it new 2 months prior, and saved $5000

Don't blame you for that decision. I have been focused on new since I have been searching all the specs. I may look into a used one if the price is right.

bucket sucks? Care to share?

I would like to know too.

About half the size it should be and almost entirely stamped steel. The sides don’t have a reinforced edge which gets bent up and the top isn’t heavy enough to weld hooks on without reinforcing.

Thanks for all the helpful info/opinions. I have broadened my search to include Kioti CK4010.

I can get "more" Kioti tractor for a little less than the other two brands. I still want to look at a few other brands but what is everyones opinion on the Kioti CK4010 or possibly the CK3510?

A quality dealer, reasonably close, available for coaching, is important for tractor neophytes. Almost every new tractor is delivered with a glitch or two requiring correction. My kubota dealer is six miles away. I have purchased two new Kubota's there. I feel my local dealer continues to add value to my equipment. Dealer proximity is less important to those experienced with tractors and qualified to perform their own maintenance.

How close are your nearest two Kioti dealers? SC should have pretty fair coverage.

Bear in mind that Kubota has 49% market share in tractors under 80 horsepower. Deere has 19%. Kubota and Deere combined have 68% market share in tractors under 80 horsepower in the USA.

All other tractor brands compete for the remaining 32% market share. There are many brands with avid supporters here with <2% tractor market share. As a neophyte, keep this in mind as you shop~~~~~~

Kioti and LS, both from Korea, make fine tractors. I have shopped both. I have a slight preference for LS. My Kubota dealer runs such an excellent operation I will probably continue to buy Kubotas.

I think the width of mine is 66" which to me is plenty big for the size of the tractor. I'm not sure as to the hooks not being able to be welded bc of structural integrity. I guess I figured if I was going to lift anything with that much weight on a single point I'd put the pallet forks on. I guess time will tell how my bucket edge holds up. It does have predrilled holes for a bolt on edge which I've been thinking about getting, but don't know much about them to know if I should or not.

A good quality tooth bar would be my first add on.A regular tooth bar or the pirranha, I have both and they are great for any type off loader work.
I was surprised at how well the pirranha bar gigs in hard ground. They also protect your bucket edge from getting bent.

Not just the width. The one I had was shallow and short.

^^ I'll keep at least one of my LTs and both push mowers for detail mowing. The LTs can do some minor trailer hauling as long as there isn't much weight. There will be a few places on hills between trees that the SCUT won't be able to mow, so the LTs will do that also.

I personally see very little use for ZTs outside of basically flat open spaces.

I've quite glad I've got my small lawn "tractor" for mowing. It's got "26 hp" (maybe when it was new?) but at least it doesn't have much to haul around while I'm mowing, and I'm beating up and depreciating a relatively cheap piece of machinery instead of my tractor, and it works great in my orchard where I can barely move my tractor around (the orchard has a lot of dwarf trees in it and was not laid out for a tractor, either!). I can fire up the LT for moving a few bags of feed, or accumulating all the stuff my wife is pruning off of the roses and other shrubberies... in short, as much as I like using my tractor, the LT serves its purpose quite well - if you gave me a tractor with a MMM it may get some use but probably still not as much as the LT would get.

As I have been looking I have realized the Kioti have a SE version of the tractors I am looking at. Can anyone tell me what the difference is and if one is better than the other? The only difference I have seen in the specs is one has Live PTO and the other has Independent PTO. I read up a little on those terms but not sure what is better, or if one is actually better than the other?

I do understand having a good dealer to deal with if I need warranty work performed but I also know that I am mechanically capable of working on what I purchase. If you end up having issues with the purchasing dealer you can always go above them. They are not the ones providing the warranty, the manufacturer is. Same goes with a vehicle. I had warranty issues and one dealership would not even submit the issue. Took it to another and all was taken care of under warranty. I cannot see this industry being any different. I came here looking for opinions and that is what I am getting. Good or bad, they are just opinions.

You want an independent PTO. Live PTOs are fossils.

Dealer is not the one providing the warranty, the manufacturer is.

60% of the time you are right. Unfortunately, 40% of the time, with new tractor problems, you are wrong. What you think should be repaired under warranty the dealer and manufacturer will classify as "operator error", not covered under warranty.

check out a youtube channel called tractor time with tim. He has a video of him looking at the 3510SE and go over all the options you get with the SE.
