Have you had the seat belt recall yet? I believe that it covers every truck from 2015 up. It seems like every truck has a few recalls lately; my 2004 Ranger went in this spring for the air bag issue. I'm not sure if they are more common, I just notice them more, or dealers are a little more diligent about fixing their errors.
My next new truck will most likely be a Ford, mostly because my employer always buys Chevys and I want a different view out over the windshield. Although I'm hearing good reports about the Rams, including 23 MPG.

I also had the airbag recalls on my 2007 Mustang GT. I recently found out about a potential $500 payout from a class action suit. I signed up this morning. Doesn't cost anything and might even pay off down the line someday.

We are waiting for parts for the airbag recall on our 2010 Milan. We've had a loaner since May while we wait for parts. Oh well, saves miles on the car that will be our daughter's in a couple years.

Picked up the truck this evening. They flashed the computer with the latest program to fix the problem. Kinda sucked to have to make an 80 mile round trip for that but maybe it will correct the problem. It ran great on the way home.

I have tried to adapt to the auto start/stop in this truck but find myself turning it off most of the time. I finally decided to find a way to permanently turn it off. I saw where people were taking their dash apart and putting a jumper wire on the switch. I didn't much like that idea. Next, I saw where some people where buying a bluetooth OBDII adapter and using Forescan software to disable it. I was considering doing that when I ran across "the fix" in a forum.

Disconnect the current sensing cable from the battery. This prevents the auto stop from working since it thinks the battery is charging.

This has worked great for me. Everything else in the truck works normal. No lights, bells or indications that anything is different. I even was able to do the same thing to my wife's VW Atlas. I am happy now!

Hey that looks slick. Have a friend that hares the auto shut off feature. Simple!

Boy am I glad to read this post. That is the only feature that I absolutely hate about my F-150. Thank you so much for posting this.

Someone explain this feature to me please? Thanks.

It shuts the engine off when you are stopped with your foot on the brake (such as at a traffic light), thus burning less fuel.

While vehicle is in drive and you come to a stop, with brake applied for "x" seconds, the engine shuts off. The instant you lift your foot to apply accelerator the engine restarts and you move on. Much like a golf cart. I thought I would HATE it but for the most part it works pretty smooth. If you have a short stop, it does not shut off.

Didn't know that was offered.

First time I saw such a thing was 1985 in Seoul Korea. All the cab drivers did that at the stoplights. But they did it manually. :)

The mechanic in me calls BS in regards to savings. Every engine starts rich. If the shutdown is 30 seconds or less you'll actually burn more fuel. Then factor in the wear and tear of startup and the "carbon footprint" will increase.

But it sounds good in the commercials and brochures.
